I have two ferrets at my mom's house and one night as I was cleaning there cage last year on Dec. 25. I had thought that the cage was fully closed and that all three locks were latched (yes it was a three story cage) I had apparently not latched one all the way. Well, they say the some small animals are not as smart as humans. Theese guys waited until just after Midnight and snuck out of the one area that i had not latched all the way and snuck out. Well, come around 2:00 in the morning, I went to the Bathroom. As I was halfway awake at the time I shuffled my feet accross the floor and I felt something fuzzy against my foot. By that time I was instantly awake. I put Isis (my little Female) back into the cage and proceded to look for my male Kahn. I found him asleep in mom's plants. He had dug and dug till he was worn out and fell asleep in the pot. How they got out I don't know, but we have since then figured out a betterlocking system including bungee cords.

Just so you know Both ferrets are fixed.
