Where I live the show is heavily into re-runs. I believe the show you're looking for is from 2006. You might try looking for an episode from Summer 2006 for your recipe. Our cable now has the newer show format on once/week with the re-runs on every day. I've seen most of them more than once.

From the "Heidi" show 10-24-2006: Lamb Tagine with Saffron Couscous and Eggplant Dip with pita. The show recently re-ran but was originally aired in Fall 2006. Unfortunately I couldn't find the recipes from the show on the web. There was also a show from 12-16-2006 "Donna" that had a cucumber and dill salad. They must pull the recipes from the older shows.

I taped the re-reun of the Heidi show and wrote down the entire recipe ! Hope this helps!

Take Home Chef-Eggplant Dip aka Babaghanoush

2 Big eggplants
1 head garlic
Olive oil
Salt
2 big spoons Tahini
1 Lemon

Prick all over the eggplants’ skin with fork. Put on a grill, drizzle the eggplants with oil and sprinkle with salt. Grill for a couple of minutes until you see grill marks. Rotate eggplants so it gets grilled everywhere.
Lay garlic on foil, sprinkle with salt and olive oil. Wrap it up in the foil.
Put eggplants on a pan lined with foil next to the garlic. Pop in oven for 45 mins on 350.
Once cooled, peel skin off eggplants, scoop seeds out with a spoon and your fingers. Sqqueeze juice of 1 lemon onto eggplant mixture. Squeeze garlic out of it's skin and into the dip. Mix with fork. Put dip onto a chopping board and chop with knife. Put back into bowl, add 2 spoons tahini and chopped parsley. Mix.

Cut pita into 6 wedges. Separate each wedge and lay them onto a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and with a brush to spread the oil all over the wedges. Sprinkle with salt and chopped parsely. Bake in oven 350-375 for 5 mins

Hi there.... this is Eva from the meatloaf show and I have to say (2 years later) that I am embarrassed by the recipe I used. My new recipe ROCKS!! Try this and you will be hooked. Oh, BTW - it took Curtis several hours to make the sauce... a LOT of work. The glaze for this meatloaf takes about 1 minute to make:

I have included the original recipe along with notes on how I have modified it - just so you know an alternative.

Bacon wrapped Meatloaf with Brown Sugar-Ketchup Glaze
Serves 6-8

Glaze:
1/2 cup ketchup
4 T brown sugar
4 tsp. cider vinegar

Meat Loaf

2 tsp. oil (to brown onion in)
1 med. onion chopped
2 garlic gloves minced
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. dijon mustard (I use coarse and do heaping ones)
2 tsp. worchestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. hot red pepper sauce (I don't do this)
1/2 cup milk
2 pounds meat mix (you choose - but do at least a pound of beef) you can do the rest as sausage, veal, turkey, whatever- I do low fat Jimmy Dean sausage and ground turkey.
2/3 cup crushed saltines, or oatmeal or 1 1/3 bread crumbs (I do the saltines)
1/3 cup minced parsley leaves (I omit this)
8-12 slices thin bacon (I don't do this either...it is delicious even without bacon & I LOVE bacon!!)

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

1. Mix glaze together and set aside
2. Grill onions and mix beat eggs and milk together
3. Mix all the ingredients together in large bowl (except for glaze and bacon)
4. Place meat mixture in foil lined loaf pan
5. Brush with half the glaze and then top with bacon slices
6. Bake loaf until bacon is crisp and loaf registers 160 degrees, about an hour. Cool at least 20 minutes. Simmer remaining glaze over med. heat until thickened slightly. Clice meat loaf and serve with extra glaze passed separately. (I don't do the bacon and just put all the glaze on when I first put it in the oven - it is a lot easier and still super tasty)
