I saw the show when it first ran so it's been a while, but I think you might be thinking of G Diapers. I've heard that Whole Foods carries them, but you might look online, too.
There are also inserts that go with cloth diapers that are flushable. I have seen them at some of the online cloth diaper stores. Here is a link to one type I have seen. I have never tried them but they might work.
This is a little late but I have an answer as well. The diapers were G diapers. We have them and have used them a couple of times. They are great for pee pee diapers but when our son had a blow out it was kind of a mess. They fit somewhat awkward and leave room for error.
The concept is great but for a breastfed newborn they are not ideal. I plan on giving them another go when he gets older.
I've been using g-diapers for about 3 months now. My daughter is almost 2 - so we don't have the issues with the breastmilk blowouts. They are pretty easy to use for urine - but will have some issues with poop. Overall, I'm quite happy. I also use cloth with a hemp insert (covered with a conventional diaper cloth) - it does just as well. Good luck and if you have questions, there's a Yahoo group for g-diapers
To those of you who use the G diapers, what is the difference between using those and regular cloth diapers? The liner is flushable, right? Don't you still have to launder the outer part?
How funny, last week when I was doing research on switching to cloth diapers, so was my mom, she ordered me the starter kit for G-diapers and it just arrived today, I am excited to read to users guide and see if these are someting I can use well I should say get use too. I am going to check out the yahoo group later too
I was also wondering how many gdiaper covers you need to keep changing time smooth. They are a bit on the pricey side, but I guess it all depends how many you need. Thanks
