if we are talking about clones what if we left out parts....like for the battle field, a fewer nerve ending so they could widthstand more pain. And inprove things like sight, hearing ,and reflexe's.

why waste money on making people stronger when you could make a gun better, or armour stronger and lighter. It comes down to money and what will be more ethical in the eyes of the army. Not totally ruling out the idea that the military might make a few super soliders for spec-ops.

in the military guns trump personel you have a better weapon odds favor the better equipiment.

true very true but the point being they can steal new weapons, or salave them after a fire fight but you cant salvage a semi-human.

but at the risk of sounding like i've been playing too much halo 2. you can make a weapon only so good before you have the better the person using it.

you made a very good point buddha13
it is very possible that wepons can only get so good and then you will have to better the person. I think the question more relies on when this time will come.

when this will happen directly depends on the government. atleast in america, to many people would complain about the idea of manipulating soldiers. id hate to say this but it seems like we are being held back from some great break throughs.

thats exactly what we should do volunteers can donate their kids. they would be raised like the spartans of greece and enhanced with animalistic senses. then peaple who are pro life would have one more argument: just donate your kids to the military

definetly but instead of as children. use it as a alteritve to abortion. then from as soon as born they become military property. use then as more of equipment instead of a person. If your whole life is based on finishing a mission then thats what you do. dicipline from day 1 creats a fighting force capable of inalting even our own military.

Woah! Now that just sound a little unethical! Remember, these are children NOT items of use. If you were to make a super solider, I would suggest to create a 'Sub-Being' derived from human genes and powerful animal traits. For example, take human DNA, make a snip there, make a cut here, add some other DNA and viola! A new being, that way we could actually "program" our soldiers instead of training them, and without having to watch our own species suffer. Now before people call me a hypocrite for even mentioning such a thing and complaining about human rights, remember, we made them as a tool not as a pet. We created it and we make the rules for it's fate. Now we play god, and not a very nice one either especially when it comes to war Big Grin
