My bird no longer lets me pick him up since we got a dog. It has been almost 2 years and he is still keeping his distance. I am the only one that feeds and takes care of him, yet he continues to refuse letting me hold him or touch him. What can I do to get this bird back? We often walked outside together, he would sit on the arm of my chair and I would pet him, and he would walk to my chair so he could sit with me. I really miss this relationship with my bird.

well maybe the bird is jealous of your dog and is getting you back for getting the dog. i would try to get the dog and bird to get to know each other better...maybe then the bird will feel less stressed out around the dog.
