Hey all. Since my other topic about what kind of conure parrot do you have didn't get enough replies, I decided to make another topic. So here it is. What kind of bird or birds do you have? Do you just have 1 or more? What species of bird are they? How old is your bird and what is its name? I have a Nanday Conure Parrot she is 6 months old and her name is Mittu (which means sweet).

If you want to get a Parakeet(Bugerigar), they make great pet birds. I used to own some Parakeets along time ago. With my experience with these birds, they are less messy then any other birds and they cost way less and less the responsibilty then bigger birds. Then I used to have cockatiels and they were great birds to own as well. Now I have a Nanday Conure Parrot and she is so sweet and loving.

I have a sky blue budgie and my sister has a button quail(a really tiny quail that fits in the palm of your hand). The budgies name is Billy and he is great Wink, even when he mimicks my dogs. Cool

I have four finches...two beautiful (and exceedingly expensive because I am a SUCKER and felt horrible about the conditions they lived in in the pet shop..) Cordon Bleu named Bruno and Clancy, and then a little white one and a brown one (a hooded nun?) named Jean and Lionel (characters from a BBC show). The brighter blue one has been going NUTS lately with this funky little dance he does with a feather in his beak--he hops on the branch and sings this strange, jungle theme... His mate just looks at him like he's nuts. And the other two (in their own cage) either ignore him or shoot him nasty looks for "making them look boring." Strangest thing I've ever seen...

Four budgerigars: Alex, opaline pied, male. Lemon, recessive pied, male. Apricot, recessive pied, male. Lime, greywing, female.

One cockatiel, Bailey, male.

We're planning to buy another greywing cobalt hen, and possibly a cockatiel female- preferably pearl.

I agree with you wildmustang13. Light blue parakeets are cute. Mine reminds me of a cloudy blue sky, thus her name is Skye. Parakeets are great pets, so are cockatiels, and I'm sure any other type of pet bird. Big Grin

HI ALL,
We are owned by 2 birds! The oldest, a Pacific Blue Parrolet,(the world's smallest parrot),BooBoo is about 15 months old. He's quite a cute little guy who LOVES to fly around the room and swoop our 10 month old Yellow Naped Amazon. The Y/N Amazon's name is "BJ" short for Bubba Junior, a Y/N we had that died suddenly. BJ's QUITE the talker! He's got as large a vocabulary as ANY Grey I've ever seen! TV or no,he'll give 'em a run for their money!,,,,lol

I have 6 birds

4 cockatiels
Ozzy - pearled pied male (pearling is gone now that he is mature)
Pico - lutino
Coco - lutino
Baby - lutino male

Dutch Blue mutation Peach faced Love bird - Zippy (rescue bird - took 18 months to gain her trust but she is still VERY territorial about her cage

Painted Conure - Ringo - my favourite as I finished his hand feeding and have really bonded with him...

My birds have their own bedroom and wander around freely - except Zippy she has to be supervised or she bites toes

Ozzy and Baby talk and have great personalities and are very empathetic - when I am stressed I go sit in the bird room and watch them... Ozzy particularly is empathetic... he will climb down his cage and ask "how are you" They say a whole bunch of phrases and words including calling my husband's name and sounding just like me... gets confusing for him...

Ringo doesn't say much but is a cuddlebug and loves to be scritched

My birds are only noisy for about 45 minutes in the am (around 7 am) and for about 30 minutes in the pm (around 6pm - which is lights out in winter and cage cover time in summer)

I hope to get 3 more birds in the future
Rose breasted Cockatoo
Lilac crown Amazon
Hawk head parrot

I have two birds, 1 pearl cockatiel and 1 umbrella cockatoo. I love them both very much, and I just can't get over how much love I get from them. They are like my children and I've come to the conclusion that when I come back in my second life that I want to come back as an umbrella cockatoo.
