I have an almost 2 year old hen. Recently I noticed that she has a fleshy colored lump by her vent. It is also bleeding a little bit here and there. She still poops, although it seem like it may be a little more watery than usual. Otherwise she is her normal self...eating, drinking, chirping, mischevious and affectionate. Does anyone have any idea of what this could be? I thought maybe she was eggbound...but after looking at that she doesn't have any matching actions. If she hadn't flipped over on her perch while I was looking I never would've even known anything was different with her. Please help!
Sounds like it could be an abscess. I'd have to see it to know for sure. However, since it is bleeding it is important for you to seek medical attention as it can become easily infected (especially because of its' location).
