Dear ducky14528,

Your mallards are trying to mate with the Cayuga. This is nothing big to worry about. However if your Cayuga starts to bleed on the neck; I would separate them for a while. This is common for ducks. All My ducks will try to mate with each other. Since my ducks are all males and no female is around they will still mate with each other. The only outcome is nothing happens. (ie. No eggs are layed). Kind of weird. But that’s what happens when no female is around.

Is your Cayuga a female? The best way to tell is to listen to the quack. As I said females are nosier than the males. The males will have a lower tone woouughh sound. If she is then she will lay eggs. However Cayuga’s are not great
eggs hatchers.
