Will if you want to you can save up your money and then ask your mom and dad if you can buy wiht the money you earned. Wink But what kind of animals do you want. Just write back what you want and I will tell you. Cool

I hate to be the one to say this, but your parents might not be wrong. Birds are a big commitment. Even a small parakeet can live for 15+ years, and I'm guessing you won't be living at home for all that time. Believe me, it's hard to find an apartment that will let you have birds.
Also, you have to think of what's best for the bird. Given that you say you already have two large dogs, is it going to be safe to bring a bird into your home? Will you be able to control the dogs when the bird is out of the cage?
Think also about your life. Do you have the time to spend several hours a day with a needy bird? Do you have the money to get vet attention if your new pet gets sick? Are the other members of your household going to be driven nuts by a screaming parrot? Even the smaller birds can be quite vocal, and there is absolutely NO way to teach a bird not to vocalize.
Buying a new pet isn't a simple affair. There are a lot of factors to consider including your life, your other pets, and the members of your household. You have to think of what would be best for the bird.
Sometimes the solution is just to wait until you're out of the house and in a situation that better fits a feathered friend.
