Please help! I moved my canaries' cage to today to clean it. I have a female and a male canary. The female has three babies in the nest. The female started behaving strangely - almost as if she was intoxicated. Then she started clicking her beak, jerking her right foot, and just stays in one place weaving back and forth. She has been like that for hours now, and she won't eat or drink. She is not puffed as if for warmth nor are her eyes closed nor partially closed. I am afraid she is going to die, but I don't know what to do to help her. She has been eating fresh apple, water, canary seed, and chopped hardboiled egg. If she dies I will lose the babies also. The male bird is fine.

There is no way for us to diagnose this over the internet. You should take your bird to the vet, that would be the best thing for her. I hope she will be ok.
