well where do i begin , well i have a year old cockatiel named eddie , well i had my lab (dog)lacey before i got eddie , eddie is all hand tamed , usually a good little birdie , but lately he has been acting out, he learned to call the dog about six months ago and always tried to land on lacy , lacey would just run and hide, well lately , eddie when eating with me is very territoral about the food , the other day the dog came in and eddie bit me hard on the neck , so in his cage he went , well he threw a tamptrum trying to tear apart his toys , lacey walked into the room and he got in the corner of the cage and watched her and paced back in forth on the dish watching her like a little mad man , now i take him into a seperate room away from the dog and he seems to be doing fine , any ideas is he really jealous of the dog??
I don't know much about cockatiels, but it sounds to me like Eddie is trying to be top dog, so to speak. He seems to be trying to be top on the pecking order. Not necessarily jealous, just number 1.
