Hi

my birds do not like the water either so what i do is hold them gently and spray under their wings, do it slowly so they get use to it, or i take my birds one at a time in the bath room make the water warm and gently hold them and let the water run on them and open their wings.

this may sound wierd Smile but if you put your bird in the sink, turn the water low and warm, then use the little spray thing like a shower for them. If you spray them on their wings, they should open them up, the nquickly spray under them...

I hope this helped.

A lot of birds hate being sprayed with the water bottle. The only one that really seems to enjoy it is my Umbrella Cockatoo...she'll open her mouth and get as close to the spray bottle as she can. The others act like I'm killing them when I spray them. Chuck, my Hyacinth, likes the bowl that I put in the middle of the room filled with water. He'll go and bathe himself when he is ready. You can probably offer a shallow dish in the cage and see how your bird takes to it. However, some birds like to shower with their owners. Sounds odd, but it works. My African Grey hates bathing but loves taking showers with me. I wouldn't recommend forcing your bird to bathe by holding him under the faucet. I think it only makes birds more insecure about bathing which can lead to more problems in the future.

Try placing a bowl of water int the cage for him to bathe in when he wants to. My tiel, Ash, is suposed to get baths atleast once every week but he's not getting them since he's untamed and bites hard. Once he's tamed I'm gonna give him bathes how I did the first few weeks we had him. Fill the tub very shallowly (so it just gets above the legs near the drain which leaves a dry place in the back for them to go if wanted) with warm water and let him walk around in it while I splashed him slightly and this worked well with him.

Anyway, some birds just don't like baths. Good luck though.

Some birds don't like them, but tough...they're getting one! Just bathed all of my birds...Hollywood had poop stuck to his foot and acted like I was killing him when I was washing it.
