I recently tried Blaine's recipe for the Monte Cristo Sandwich. The recipe for Sandwich Filling calls for 1 tsp. cinnamon and 2 Tbsp. butter. However, in the directions for the sandwich preparation, these two items are not mentioned. Has anyone else tried this recipe? If so, how are the cinnamon and butter incorporated into the sandwich?

A monte cristo sandwich is a grilled sandwich with ham and swiss cheese. Some people add either chicken or turkey too. I have never seen one with cinnamon. The butter might be brushed on the bread before putting it on a griddle or skillet to cook.
