I love the premise of the show, but in the episode that was just on, the host is in the Siberian Arctic. Personally, I'd rather hear about the native Siberians he is visiting, not his whining about how cold it is and how much of a burden he has become.
Several years ago, we were filmed by a Discovery crew. The hours were very long and the work was difficult, but they did not complain. In fact, they did our work as well we their own. Maybe Going Tribal should find another host...

I didn't really see it as complaining, but showing the viewer what was really going on. The fact that the native Siberians called him a hard worker and that he never complained about doing any tasks shows how he truly is.

The guy really has it rough. You can see what a toll all this travel and "roughing it" is taking on his body. I didn't think he was complaining, I thought he was more at a loss to explain what he was feeling and going through for the audience. Maybe he was trying a little too hard, but nobody's perfect. He felt inept and like he was a burden, and I'm sure not speaking the language, he was probably having a hard time conveying his intentions. But in the end, you could see that the people he stayed with appreciated his effort, which is really what makes the show so interesting. Will he "fit in" with the people or not? To you it seemed like he was complaining, but to me, it seemed like he was just at a loss to try to help the audience at home "taste" everything he was going through. I didn't have any negative feelings about it. If he wasn't the host, then the show wouldn't even really exist...I wouldn't watch it if they replaced him.
