We have been looking at and writing about Going Tribal for our university studies using several different theories (tourism, excess, ethnographic filmmaking, voyeurism, ethics, food consumption, drug consumption, etc.) and have found, contrary to many of our collegues in anthropology, that Going Tribal is in line and at times better than current ethnographic film.
We find ourselves both enchanted by and worried by Going Tribal's success and implications.
We often get mixed reactions to the program and are hoping to better understand your reactions to the program and assimilate the responses into our research.
As filmmakers we also want to know how you think Going Tribal could be improved and invite your responses to help us make better films (if possible).
We are writing a thesis on Going Tribal which will eventually be turned into a book. We greatly appreciate any and all responses to our questions.
Thank you
