spirits can't cross over televisual connections, nor can they go where ever they want. a spirit can be blocked by salt or iron or silver. they also can't cross water, something to do with the way their energies are held together, iron or water sort of ground them out like when you touch a doorknob after rubbing your stockinged feet on the carpet. if a spirit tried to do what Casper did in a movie a few years back and go through the tv and phone lines, they would be torn apart and have their "aura field" or whatever you want to call it broken and bled out. watching the show to much may make you more paranoid or on the other hand, you might recognize a sign for what it is. also, if the show begins to spook you, the energies and emotions you let off can feed a spirit until it has the power to manifest. ghosts and spirits don't pull a Christmas Carol and wander the earth, they have a set domain that is their safey-safe, they don't leave the safey-safe because it takes too much power, run too low on power and the spirit becomes part of the fabric of creation again and looses all identity.

Last night my son and I watched "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". The priest warned his attorney of 3:00 am as a time of possible demon attack (turns out she'd been waking up every night at that time already.) So my son says to me, "I bet you'll really freak out if you wake up at 3:00 am!" Well, I woke up at 3:00 am! After about 30 seconds I calmed myself down because I remembered that was about the 4th time I'd woken up last night -- back ache. You gotta make sure your head doesn't get to crazy before you get your facts straight sometimes.

I did run across an instance were an obsession with horror movies and horror movie memorabilia attracted some negative spirits. A friend of mine who was sensitive called me to her daughter's house. Her son-in-law had a collection that he kept in their office and the room didn't "feel right" to the women. It wasn't right. So we took care of the problem.

Here we go again.... Yes. Negative things which may include "Wes craven or Jason" movies can attract negativity. Why. Because anything that causes a person fear ie; insect, creature, movie persona, experience causes "fear". Did you not say animus that [QOUTE] the energies and emotions you let off can feed a spirit until it has the power to manifest [QOUTE] Does not a Wes Craven movie or a Jason movie cause this reaction in some ppl? It did for me! So my lil fear of Wes Craven doesnt compete with the fear brought on by say a, SAW Movie? If your fear level does not compare with my or someone elses level doent make it any less important....This is where you are wrong. What scares me or my children may not scare you, oh high one. Dont judge. Every one has a diff level of fear. Demons and Devils feed off of fear, as you acknowledged....the level of fear is to be determined. Individually. Be gracious. We can not all be like you. Have compassion for the ppl that dont fit into your category of 'fear'.

As well, read back thru the forum. There is a post of " A Haunting" watcher that bought the DVD's to the episodes and had to get rid of them because of the distress caused in her home once they arrived. I guess that's just another [Qoute] spirits can't cross over televisual connections, nor can they go where ever they want. [Qoute] I guess you need to visit someones home or you havent had your own haunting experience enough to make you think thrice. I would love to see your professional credentials or degrees. Cause we all 'crazies' sure could use some help here!!

I thought she died from malnutrition or something to that affect. The demons possessing her wouldn't allow her to eat. I'm pretty sure her death didn't occur during actual rite of exorcism. One thing I agree with the priest's defense team on is that the side effects of the medication she was on probably made it harder for her to fight, which is why the exorcism failed.

Oh, and I woke up at 3:25 am last night -- had to use the potty. Demonic attack on my bladder? LOL
I blame my son for scaring me. He knows I wake up in the middle of the night!

the exorcism didn't fail if she died. it failed in the respect to save her, which in its own constitutes an incalcuable failure, but the demon was sent back to Hell. a demoniac is sustained by the demon when they should have died, this is part of the demons torture. the demon also feeds off of the victim's spirit until their soul is cut of from their body and can't give it life, they become a prisoner in their own body. once the demon is gone, there is nothing holding her up to spite the exorcist and the soul's ties with the body are irrepairably damaged.

My 3:00 am wake-ups were coincidental after all. It was just those 2 times. One more time and I would have been lighting up all the sage in my house! Mooch, I wish there was something I could do to help. Got Sage?

Sage, garlic, salt, oregano, basil, olive oil etc.. JK my house would need a bundle of Sage like a hay bundle size. I could use a horse and milk cow while I'm at it.

In regards to the original posters question.... I'm going with no. I do find myself yelling @ the folks in the show though when they claim they feel helpless and can't do anything about it. I find myself yelling "Cast it out in the name of Jesus!"
I have been physically attacked by a demon once and the name of Jesus always sends them fleeing.

It sounds like your preparing to bake a cake for an evil spirit. Whatever happened to "In the name of Jesus Christ". Please elaborate as to what you mean by a few of your toys by design. I see you got one right out of that list. I hope I'm right in assuming that the Bible is not one of your toys by design. Another observation I made, you may also try and consider giving the son of God Jesus, the respect he deserves and right his entire name out. JC sounds like a rock band.

[Qoute] Of course i didn't design the Bible, that is completley insane for one person to design 66 books of Scripture, i only chipped in a few stories here and there [Qoute] LMOA!! Lucky for you!! I would be up your BEHIND for answers and directions.

I don't think a spirit can come out of the TV and haunt your house. I got freaked myself when I started watching the show, but then I got into it. I even went to Gettysburg,PA... talk about a ghost town!! Every hotel was claimed haunted, evil or good. But one night, I was on a ghost tour and they took us down into the basement of a haunted orphanage. Footsteps were heard running around upstairs, by little kids. Also, my mom was standing in the "hotspot" of the basement. It felt much diffrent from the rest of the room. Anyway, I got into the spirits.
