I agree that AH is, but GH is way better than PS.

If there are tapes and videos that PROVE these paranormal events are accurate and actually occurred, why do they not air those tapes to add validity?

While I don't think it's intellectual to go into this assuming ghosts aren't real, I do agree with your point about showing the evidence 100%

I would think corroborative testimony from people of various social groups would be pretty good evidence. If you want better non-dramatized evidence try looking into the well documented and evidential Marian apparitions at Faima, Garabandal, and Zeitun. YouTube them.

One would argue that an event of thins kinds needs to counterbalance the everyday events of natural law (Hume). However, this is a fallacy becasue the supernatural does not go AGAINST nature but acts UPON nature, so one should treat these events not as Hume saw the miraculous, but as one views the marvelous.

I have been watching this show every Monday for about a month.
First off: Quite honestly I don't think you could consistently make up most of that at the rate they produce it. Obviously they've over dramatized it for TV. I can accept that.
Second off: Skeptics who don't believe in ghosts have never had an "encounter" with them. There is no disputing that. People who've had encounters wish they could go back to being ignorant and skeptical. Those that do not tend to become investigators.
Third off: The fact that live testimony (sometimes anonymous) adds to the concept that at least for someone, this was real. Trained actors can cry. Actors are typically cosmetically 'attractive'. Most the of the interviewees appear as normal everyday folk. Some of them cry when they recount what happened to them.
As for demonic possession it's the hardest of them all to 'swallow.' However, today's episode where the husband goes at the wife with an axe is traceable. He went to jail and there was a police report. That's going to be hard to de-bunk. He obviously tried to reconnect...but how do you trust someone who attacked you with an axe? As long as he'd been with her, he'd have exhibited some sort of behavior that would have made it plausible for him to justify attempted murder.
There is no proof...you have to experience it yourself. Once you do, you will look at the world differently. You'll see religion differently. Then when you see these shows you see what might have been or what could have been. So for me its real and for me its chilling.

lastly, as for the production I think its top notch. Having watched many a horror movie these shows are by far more scary.

Boy oh boy do I believe that one. Anyone who has never encountered something of this nature could not possibly deny it. I sometimes wish that I could forget, that I could writeoff some of the things I felt while growing up as something explainable, but I can't. I can feel things I wish I couldn't, a "gift" that I inherit from my grandmother. I am currently working on writing a short book about my experiences growing up in a haunted house.

I believe, as does one of my aunts, that actual hauntings are rare, and more times than not what some people believe as hauntings in their homes are really paranoia and/or not feeling comfortable in their surroundings. However, some hauntings are very real, and while some spirits can be pleasant ones who mean no harm, some even acting as protectors, there can also be some downright cruel and nasty ones, right up into the evil range.

Yes, I agree. So called horror movies rarely ever scare me, but this show gets me more on a regular basis. Every night before I fall asleep images and stories from the show go through my mind. Scary.

I've watched many of these episodes, and I came away with the same impressions as many of the other contributors, such as...these situations only seem to happen to Christians and the clergy always becomes involved. I have never seen any other ethnic groups involved in these experiences. These sort of things are interesting, and I know that since there are so many instances of the paranormal all over the world, there must be some truth to these. I especially am interested in historical hauntings such as those of the Civil War, etc. I never had any experiences myself (my hair would probably turn instantly white)...but I do like reading or viewing stuff like this. The other comments are quite funny, and they actually answered my questions.

If you think everything on this show is bunk, then why are you even watching it or commenting on this forum? If you think another show such as GH is better then wonderful? I happen to disagree with your diatribe about this show which in my opinion is a fascinating series! I find the stories enthralling and downright spooky! I see them as being truthful representations of the actual occurrences as relayed to the producers of the series. It's a factual series about a subject, which until recently. has only been presented on a limited, sporadic basis. I hope to continue to see this series on Discovery along with more new episodes! I can't wait!

Personally, I like the show. I agree it may be a bit dramatized to keep it interesting but doesn't mean it's not true. I like the fact they have the real people giving their experience along with the show. I would like to see some new episodes.
