We are not alone here! Look into EVPs and Ouija Boards. There are tons of accounts and recordings on the net. Be careful and not do anything on your own because you don't want to open doors. I have first hand experience because I collect vintage boards and boy oh boy did I ever have one heck of an experience. Even as a child I had a few encounters. I cannot see the wind therefore it must not be real. Do you see how much sense this kind of thinking makes??? I completely respect everyone's opinion but the statement that because you have not seen something must mean it does not exist is not even justified.
I used to be a atheist myself. After having things happen in my family I totally changed my mind. A Haunting is one of my my favorite shows. I find that they are very well researched and usually have collaborating witnesses who are either the worlds best actors or just maybe they are really telling the truth. I really hope they do another season as I was disappointed to learn that it may be canceled.
Stebod, what if you were wide awake because you just lay down. I know without a doubt that I was not experiencing sleep paralysis because I had to fight to keep my blankets from being yanked off of me 3x and then when I went to go see what the heck was doing that, because I thought it was my dad playing a joke on me, I was jumped on with such force. I had never been attacked like that before and if it was sleep paralysis, wouldn't it be a regular occurrence! Like I have said many times before it would be naive to think that there was nothing else. How can you say that there is nothing else out there when we all know that energy can never die. People write off the paranormal because it's easier to believe that there is nothing more than what we know here on earth. Sometimes when faced with change and/or the unknown, it frightens people much more than ghosts! Maybe that's why so many don't want to believe. Are you really interested in evidence or are you assuming from the outset that the supernatural cannot be real? I would think corroborative testimony from people of various social groups would be pretty good evidence. If you want better non-dramatized evidence try looking into the well documented and evidential Marian apparitions at Faima, Garabandal, and Zeitun. YouTube them.
One would argue that an event of thins kinds needs to counterbalance the everyday events of natural law (Hume). However, this is a fallacy becasue the supernatural does not go AGAINST nature but acts UPON nature, so one should treat these events not as Hume saw the miraculous, but as one views the marvelous.
IMHO, people who are 100% set in stone that ghosts aren't real are being a bit illogical themselves. Why be so close-minded? A truly logical person would say, "I don't believe in ghosts, and I won't believe in one until I've seen one/seen indisputable proof, but I'm open to the possibility."
People have been claiming of seeing ghosts for thousands of years. Clearly something must going on, whether it be some kind of brain malfunction or the real deal. Until it's scientifically shown what causes people to see ghosts, might as well have an open mind.
Whether they are real or not. I think these shows are better left for A&E or other sensational style channels. I have been watching discovery for around 20 years. I grew up with it. When discover started doing reality shows about motorcycles I tuned out. I started coming back to watch when the shows that are actually of some sort of educational value started appearing again. Now this paranormal stuff makes me not even want to toon in again. No offense to people that worked hard to create the show. It is just the wrong platform for this channel. I got an account on this website just to say this. I'm out.
I wish that discovery would put a star rating system in place for each show on the website. So that I could give this show a 1 star and get back to the shows that worth wasting my time to watch.
These shows are pretty stupid. My kid is possessed by demons yet I never thought about getting a video camera? That would be the first thing I would do otherwise people would think you were crazy.
To each his own. Being Christian, the Bible teaches on the subject of using mediums, and ghosts/spirits. Easy to find-New Testament/New International Version. Leviticus 19/31 and Levi.20/27. I watch the shows because I really enjoy them. I find myself anxiously waiting new episodes. Like I said, to each his own.
I just wish these people would pick up a camera when demon spirits throw books, candles, and other things across the room. "A Haunting" shows the possessed talking differently with the deep demon voice. Where is the video proof? The show is interesting but takes faith and has little evidence to back up any of the stories. For all I know these people are wannabe actors like the Balloon Boy family.
