I certainly believe ghosts exist and are among us all the time. My story began right after my father passed away. Me, being an only child, I was the executor of dad's estate. I also had the task of taking over his property and his belongings.
Still in shock of dad's passing, I took a month off of work to see about his house and everything else associated with a lost loved one. Battling my emotions was the worst part of it.
One night as I was about to settle down for the evening, dad's phone rang and I was happy to see it was an aunt who lived within the same community. She invited me to have supper with her.
Knowing that I had spent all day at Dad's house cleaning, I decided to take her up on her offer. When I returned home, the answering machine was blinking as though I had a message. So, I did what anyone would do. I let it sit there for a bit until I was ready to see who it was. You have to understand, everyone in the familiy was calling all the time. It really got to be too much there for a bit. But I managed to get the courage to see who it was.
To my surprise, the message was quite faint. However, I heard my father's voice calling out my name twice. It was as if he was trying to get my attention.
After the call, I quickly had my Aunt and others come to take a listen. Before I told them anything, I asked them to listen to the message, tell me what was said and who they thought it was.
Everyone I asked quickly said, 'Well, that's Gerald saying, "Jerry, Jerry". After that moment, I became very interested in after life studies and am still investigating today. This happened in 2001 and I guess you could say, it was an eye-opening experience for me.
I often tell people who have lost a loved one whether human or animal to continue doing the same things you did when they were alive. For example, I think it is a good idea to continue putting water and food out for an animal as I have been told they appreciate it very much.
Also, never feel you are crazy for talking with your loved ones that have passed over. It is so important for you to not only comfort yourself but to also comfort them in their time of transition.
Peace
