The house my family and I live in, is more than 250 yrs old. All my life things have happened, like doors opening and closing by themselves, footsteps and things missing. I always was in denial about everything. Then about 3 yrs ago the property was subdiveded. The property had been one parcel of about 1000 acres for yrs, then started being sold off, bit by bit. When the parcel that sold three yrs ago started being developed, things started to heat up. And what really set off the paranormal investigation, was when my dog became sick one night. We put him in the basement for the night. Well not knowing any better, the dog was trying to claw his way out of the basement, barking and crying all night. Freaking out, I did not think that he was scared, I thought he was being stuborn and wanted back in the house. When the dog would get sick he was always put in the basement without incident. We do not do this anymore, he will not go near the basement. the poor thing. This got e thinking, maybe I was not crazy and there was more to what people had been telling me and I had witnessed in the past. Finally I contacted a paranormal group here in New London Connecticut. They came to the house twice. They informed me that within 10 mins they had collected 42 EVP'S, the second time they came out it was the same. My son has seen a little girl in his room since I can remember and people have been touched, scratched up and shoved down stairs. On ocassion they talk and whisper alot. There are always shawdows and lights flying around in the house, I am so use to it now, its buiness as normal for my family and myself. But when outsiders come to the house they like to play with them, and try and scare them. Apparently Hessin soldiers connected with the property, and this I believe becuase a Bayonet from the civil war was found on the property about 100 yrs ago, along with a spanish war bayonet. I have both of these items. A physic said there are to wells on the property also connected to some of the hauntings in my home. And several of my sons friends have seen a man in a long blue coat with an odd hat at the stairs in the bootom of my basement doorway. Some people come back, some do not. I kept this quiet because of the stigma people have with the unknown, however with some of the things that are happening, it cannot be kept quiet any longer. It is to the point I am considering seeling the house. My 23 yr old son moved out about a month ago. As much as it has broken my heart, I feel he is safer away from here. I guess my writing this, is because no one will know where I am or who I am, so this lets me tlk about it and get it out, without being called crazy by those who know me. Its so hard dealing with all this and no one have any answers as to why its happening to my family. The group that came out gave me documentation , said they might know people who could clense the house, however they believe there are more than 200 hundred spirits, ghosts or whatever you want to call them here. If the clensing does not work it could make things worse! So now what do I do? If anyone has any positive input, please let me know?

Hi, I would try to contact Ed and Lorraine Warren, I just read the book about them "the demonologist" if you want to understand your problem better that would be good reading. Otherwise I would get in touch with any Catholic priest and then they would refer you to somebody who could do an exorcism, which sounds is what you need. I am amazed you have managed to live through such disturbances so long.. beware that oppression may get worse though as it sounds like is demonic and they try to go for possession once they have weakened your spirit

Seriously, open it up as a tourist attraction, advertize spooky phenominon and ull get all the help u need to banish spooks. Cap the wells. alert religiouse and spiritual 'healers' they should be happy to help u for FREE as they are doing the world a service and honing thier own skills at the same time. Then, sell it for a profit piece by piece.

This might seem trite or flip, but its not. U bring in a bunch of people challenging this phenominon and ull either open the gates of hell, or get rid of the haunts. If u break up the property you allow more assaults on the deceased, forcing them to either return 2 the light or back to hell. U also allow the ground to have new, perhaps happier, memories. Your fear will do more harm than anything eles.
U could sell it as a cemetery, the ghosts wont bother anyone there, its just dead bodies. Beware of anyone wanting to HELP u at a price. Gods work is free last i checked, charity and all leading to the road of happiness. GOOD LUCK!!!

Update, last Saturday night 7-21-07 a paranormal group came to my home, this would be the second group I have contacted. Asecond opinion to confirm i am not paranoid nor crazy! The feelings the woman from the group got was to attack my husband, she relayed to me that one of the entitys has indeed put an X on me as ( His ) there was much more, it would take days to get the information on everything happening here! The last group gave me two CD's with some of the EVP'S captured in my home, there were so many it would have taken a long time for them to give me all of them I guess, along with a letter saying we deem your home Haunted, oh and a CD with Video conformation. The second group were in shock, they actually felt the vibration from my bed, and witnessed my clothing being pulled around my body, at this point everyone was taking video and pictures , monitoring temps and trying get EVP's, I felt drained and very sick when this ordeal passed! I have the group coming back August 3rd, I do hope to find someone to help me with this, however most I have contacted act like they are to busy or its not big enough to waste there time on. Now ur certified, open the doors to SPOOKY HOUSE! Charge a flat rate, 15$ a person, rent out recorders and sell tapes so visitors can bring home their own evp memories. Trust me, this is the best advice anyones gonna give you and its free.

Good Morning Everyone,

I have had a rough few days, now when I sit on my couch, its moving, like someone is throwing themselves against it. Afew days ago my poor dog was attacked by black flies, they litteraly ate through his fur in one spot. Then on Wednesday night my husband woke up to the dog howling and making a noise he had never heard before, and could not duplicate for me. Last night he watched as the sheets on my bed were being moved around while I was covered up. He kept saying for them to leave me alone. But they wont. Before we fell alseep we heard something fall over upstairs, no one in the house but us. What annd why is this happening to us? I wish I knew. The group is coming back out Saturday night, they will try and calm things down some for us. The woman in the group I feel a connection with, if nothing else it puts me at ease for a little while, when she is here. When I spoke to her last night she told me a voice on the tape said Get Out. And there was a Shusing sound to. They have so many hours to review on the tapes. I write in this forum , for two reason, 1st is, its like therapy for me. 2nd is I really feel the support from everyone, and the offers of help I recieve, I cant thank you folks enough! I cant write everything happening, some is very personal and very hard to deal with. However I will keep adding to the posts, just might be a few days between, because I am worn down, and when I write or talk about the house things get very active. Thank you my friends!!

I wonder how the ghosts would react if you were to turn off all the lights, light some candles and put on a scary movie like The Entity, The Excorcist or The Amityville Horror(my personal favorite 3 scary movies ever) with some booming surround sound, alot of friends over with plenty of beer..that sounds fun, maybe it would make 'em happy OR I would throw big parties every night with loud music, alot of alcohol(so i wouldn't notice them) so the ghosts would feel ignored and leave..supposedly they hate being ignored and thus perhaps leaving them to look elsewhere for people to haunt so they can feel noticed and special again. Just a comedic thought

Well, your actually kinda correct with your view on attention,even though we do not party or consume alcahol. The group Signssightings.org, was at our home again last night doing more investigating. They also said, ghosts like attention, and get upset when they do not get it. This group has been very supported to our family. They are wonderful people truly trying to help. They have collected so much evidence and in the on going investigation, will be coming back in a few weeks with the evidence they have to share with us. So on that note, your comedic thought, is correct as far as attention goes. And yes they do get alot of attention here, because everyone knows whats happening and they love coming here to experience it, not to mention my sons friends are all college age. So they find it very cool. However it still leaves us drained and frustrated, my son would never live back here, and no one else wants to either. This encludes hubby and myself. If I had a buyer that wanted a haunted house, I would sell this place in a minute. But I dont think many people are looking to move innto haunted houses these days! So we try to cope best we can. I will continue to update on this situation, and thank everyone for the support we have recieved at this diificult time in our life!

Put white candles in the house, this is positive energy. Also have the house cleansed to send the spirits away.

Selling the house might make whatever is inside more enraged and follow you, or it would stay there and cause even more trouble for the next person who might buy the house. I think you should call an exorsist and see what he could do for you. Has anyone in your home been hurt by this things?

yes i am attacked every night in my bed room, my husband has had physic attacks on him, my sons ex-girlfriend was pushed down the stairs. i wouldnt sell unless the new owners were aware of the issues in my home. and i have signed documents giving the group permission to put and and all findings from my house on their web site, spiritsigns.org. I've read your postings with great interest. Someone suggested contacting Ed and Lorraine Warren. Just a quick note regarding this....Ed Warren passed away last August. I'm not sure if Lorraine is still doing investigations or not. Their nephew, John Zaffis, has an office in Connecticut (cannot remember the name of the town, but he does have a website). I know he still does investigations. He was one of the investigators on "A Haunting in Connecticut" as well as several other stories profiled on "A Haunting". I hope you'll continue to post updates. Ok, contacted the Church, Catholic in my town. Because I do not attend, they declined in helping us. I have however in the past few months learned to communicate and somewhat control and take back my home. The fear is gone, but they are not. I am learning much from everything happening. And have decided to open my home to scientific research. Why not? I think if something can be learned or validated in the name of science, then this is a good thing!!!! Just a short update to my friends.

Man, I'd LOVE to buy that house! I've been wanting to buy a haunted house for a long time! I work from home full time (remote life insurance underwriter) and I can move anywhere there's broadband internet availability. Of course the spirits would have to leave my internet connection alone...

I've stayed on the Queen Mary, spent the night at Myrtle's Plantation, and NOTHING! I really want my own paranormal experience. Perhaps one should beware of what one wishes for...

Don't completely shirk the smart-aleks who suggest charging admission. The Moss's of Myrtle's have been raking it in hand over fist for years, even though virtually all of the well-known ghost stories (esp. Chloe the slave girl) have been proven to be manufactured.

Probably best for you that they did decline to help you. I have heard quite a few horror stories from all over of the fallout after exorcisms, particularly Church based ones. Don't get me wrong, some priests do a very good job of it, but from what I hear good luck finding one of those talented individuals. Some exorcisms can make it worse, some only shield the owners then others get it worse as a result. If you are going to open up your house for research, make sure you lay some ground rules for them, like, don't go stirring trouble with the spirits, be respectful, and all that. Supervise new groups if you must till you know they are trust worthy. Have them check any new activities or whatever that they are wanting to try with you first. From what you have said it looks like you are doing ok with the group you have been working with so far though, so that’s good - at least you didn’t get the cowboys to start with then.

Have you spoken about this on any other sites? No offence to the people here, but this is a forum for a TV channel/s, not a site focussed on the paranormal or the supernatural, which will probably draw more people with experience in this.

On Ghost Hunters the other night,one of the investigators shouted names at the spirits to try to get reactions from them.I thought it was kinda rude.

Yeah they have been disrespectful on occasion when they are trying to "provoke". I think they were trying to be funny last week, but yes I agree it was a bit rude.

Its been a while. My Mom has sucumb to her cancer, brain,bone and lung, she has battled stage five cancer for 13 months, the doctors gave her 6 weeks. I moved her into my home 13 months ago. Through prayer, Rieki and positive thoughts she is still with me. However 2 weeks ago she baecame bed ridden, after her 61st birthday. She now has the little girl spirit sitting by her side. The child tells her, she will be ok, and they are waiting for her on the other side. This being said, I have learned to embrace this house and everything that goes along with it! The doctors are still saying she should of been gone a yr ago,no treatments, no cancer drugs. Because of her illness I have spent every moment with her, leaving no time for anything else. She is my best friend, sister and mother, and now I will soon be saying goodbye to my Angel. I have had several investigations, my Mom loves them, lol . If you visit (spiritsigns.org)there will be more and more evidence from my home.I think so far there are two evp's on there, pictures are to follow. My Mom requested that I learn as much as I can from the paranormal and open my home and allow others to experience these paranormal happenings. I told her I would do this.
On the 16th of August, with no reason, no one was provoking. An investigator was thrown to the floor, in my kitchen. She is ok, just scratched up a bit. And I have captured multiple pictures over my Mom, of bright almost white orbs. My house is always active, but once I lost the fear, it has become so interesting, to myself and the entire family! My son's friend slept over about 12 weeks ago, he said a black figure was over him, then he had a crushing feeling in his lower right side, he could not move. Afew days later , he had some pain in the area. Well 3 weeks ago the doctors removed Lymph glands from the site. He now sleeps here almost every night. Had that of not happened to him, it would not of been caught in time and god only knows what would of happened to him.Just wanted to catch up a little, I will check back soon. I hope everyone is well and enjoying the Autum weather!!

Monday morning about 8:35 am my Mom passed, i am devastated as is my husband and son. We were all here with her, thankfully. I was grateful that she looked like an Angel just sleeping. The nurses and aid told us, this is very uncommon for a person who passes from cancer. My life is very empty and at this point unsure. She said she would come back to me as soon as she could, so now the 3 of us just wait for her. Please keep her in your prayers for us! Take care everyone and thank you!

Yea, Ed Warren passed away in 2006.
Try a non denominational church. Most dont require you to be a member. My catholic church wouldnt bury my grandparent because she was not a regular attendee and we had stopped attending a few years back. Sad. God Bless and prayers.

I thank you again for your kind words.As you know its been a long four years for me, first with my home deciding to come alive like it has, then my Moms illness.
She loved anything and everything paranormal! A true Ghost Hunter junkie, lol . She so wanted me to accept things and not fear them. I have managed to do this for her! She also wanted me to open my home to research and the occasional skepic, lol. Right now I am just trying to figure out how to go on without her with me. But I was able to tell her on 9/20/08 early afternoon, we had been approached about allowing the media in my home, she gave me a huge smile!! I told her Mom I am doing it for you, you got your wish!!! It wont be for a few months, I need some time to heal, and work through the days ahead.I know she is with me, because she was a great joker with a wierd sense of humor. And we have had some not the norm things happening the last few days! Nothing scary just odd. I will start posting about the house happenings in the near future and I am still trying to figure out how to post pictures and some EVP's? Take care everyone.

has any of the investigators said anything about the presences' being demonic? Sometimes certain demonic presences use a sort of calling card. The black flies has been thought to be an indication of some.

Thanks again for all the prayers! It means alot to me ! Well as far as there being anything Demonic, in the beginning we thought it might be,but now I don't believe it is. It seems to want attention. But my life has been devoted to my Mom for an entire year, and where other's noticed stuff, I pushed it away. Over the past four weeks we have taken pics of some very vivid bright light orbs. Again I am trying to figure out how to put them online? Any one have some ideas on how I can do this? Well I need to run. Take care my Friends!

Say 4,000 'Hail Mary's' and then steal some 'holy water' from a catholic church (You can use mine, it's cool.) and then sprinkle it in every room of your home.

Also, you might want to keep many cloves of garlic around just in case you caught an image of dracula.

Plus, keep the camera still when you take a photo, and try not to point it into sources of light: chandeliers, birthday candles, lamps, the sun...etc.

Then, when you've mastered all those steps, take all your film to a better developer.

I guarentee your problem will be solved...
