I just saw the movie Paranormal and was wondering if the Ouija board actually has "mystical powers." My parents wont let me buy one and see what actually happens because its "against the Catholic morality" and yea. I honestly dont believe that it works and laugh at it, but some of my friends and my mother are afraid of it
lol thats the same thing with me my parents wont let me get one. but i did hear a lot of weird stuff with Ouija boards just dont mess with aanything like that i wont. but i want to see that movie is it good
Your parents are very wise not to let you play with one, because they often let things in that are evil, negative and dark. Sometimes demons too! Same has been said about devil worship. I have some vintage boards and even came across one that was active. Not evil, but mischievous. Even before that, right after I started collecting for a couple years, I was really creeped out one night ( I watched The Canadian Discovery Channels A Haunting for the first time in December 2005 - Connecticut and Georgia were aired ), and it was really late when I went to bed, around 3:30am. I was attacked by something very powerful that I could not see... it wouldn't let me see it! I am still shaken by it today. It was so shocking and terrifying, I can't even tell you. I am a Libra so I am very sensitive. I can pick up energy all the time. It's not fun when it's negative, let me tell you. I'm not sure if things like that happen to everyone, I can only speak for myself. Anyways, the moral to my true story is to please not mess around with things like Ouija Boards because they do work. Art Bell on Coast to Coast had a program dedicated to Ouija Boards and warning people not to use them. It is very difficult to get rid of the evil and burning the board, like some people, is said to only make it worse.

I just wanted to add that I was attacked not even 30 seconds after I lay down! It takes the average person at least 10 MINUTES to fall asleep. It was not a dream or a night terror. I was so wide awake because I was very scared. I even left the lights on too. I am not one to frighten so easily either, but A Haunting is such an effective program that I didn't stand a chance. Oh did I mention that when i was really little I used to perform seances and was always reading pagan like books. I had no idea what I was doing and that also lead to stuff too. It's very confusing to know things that you don't know. Puzzle pieces that make no sense when you get them and then you have to try and piece them together as you go.
Quija boards do work, and they are very evil, do not mess play with them, they are not a toy. When you mess with stuff like that you invite demons into your home and sometimes your body. I know they work from personal experience, I have read all the articles trying to bring a logical explanation to what happens, a friend and I used one about 15 years ago, I know I wasn't moving it and he swears he wasn't, I know he wouldn't lie to me for 15 years if he had moved it. We communicated with a spirit and It still scares me to think about it to this day.
I understand that its not a toy and shouldnt be messed with. Believe me I know...Im a catholic and its against my faith but it just seems improbable that a ghost "demon" could come out of some board. If it could bring in bad things, then couldnt it bring good things to?

I saw the movie over the weekend, I though it was scary and well-made for this type of movies. As a youth I was very interested in the paranormal and occult and delved into it heavily as I moved into my college years. I too am Catholic and used a Ouji board-heck it was sold by Parker Brothers the makers of various types of games, I though it was safe. I used it around 13 and 14 years of age and it worked. But after coming full circle with all of my experiences I would recommend what your parents say and stay away from the Ouiji board and all that other occult stuff because it opens doors to the negative.
It really depends on what you do to prepare before using one on whether or not you'll actually get an evil spirit or if you'll get a kind one. Honestly if you go get one and then just start messing around with it without having a particular person/being you want to communicate with, then, yes, an evil entity can come through. However, I would be hard pressed to call the board itself evil, as it's a medium, that's it. It's a totally neutral communication device that can summon good/bad/neutral spirits.
I have a friend who used one to say goodbye to the spirit of his friend who died in the Iraq war, and he got the spirit of his friend, not some evil doppelganger or evil spirit pretending to be his friend.
It's up to you if you'll ultimately get one and use it for good or evil.
First off, yes, you should be careful when using a Ouija board. Here are some tell-tale signs that you are talking to a spirit that is evil. If they mention anything about hell, satan, demons, anything like that, flip the planchet (the little thing that moves) over. Don't even say goodbye, just do it. Don't even ask the spirit to say "hello". Have it say "Hi" or something like that. It also doesn't hurt do have a circle of salt around you and all those using the Ouija Board.
Second, the Ouija board itself is not evil, certain spirits that you can lure out can be evil. Speaking as a practicing wiccan, I have used a Ouija board before. Myself and three of my friends, one of whom is also a wiccan, spoke to my friend's older brother who hadn't crossed over yet. He was waiting for her to join him. Anyway, there was one point when my hand was the only one on the planchet. I could feel it trying to move around the board and I didn't have enough energy for it to move. It responded to questions that my friends could know nothing about.
The moral of the story is that you should never use a Ouija board not because they're "evil" but if you don't know what you're doing, there will be consequences because you didn't know what you were doing.

Ouija boards don't work. I've tried them many times and nothing happens. They are made my Milton Bradley. So what does Milton Bradley put in these special boards that makes ghosts want to interact with them? Why can't I play monopoly with that same ghost? I'm pretty lonely and a good game of connect four would be fun. Why won't you play Connect Four with me? Is it because Connect Four doesn't have the super secret spiritual cardboard that the Ouija boards have? The only time Ouija boards work is when your friend is messing with you.
"Do Not Play". Might regret it in the long run.
