I am highly considering getting a new best friend. A dog. I want a purebred and I want to get it from a breeder. I want a small sized dog. I want something small enough that I can take it places with me, and take it on vacation with me. I am ready to make a commitment to raising a healthy, happy, socilized dog. I am going to register my pup with the AKC and do canine good citizen with it and if its good enough, conformation. I am very resposible and very careful and caring. I live alone and do in-home grooming so the pup will be constanly be payed attention and have tons of socilization.

-small size
-companionship
-any grooming
-will go tons of places and see tons of things

I want to know if you recommend a breed(from the toy group) just by what I told you in this post. If you have any questions or comments feel free to post them. I hope to hear from you!

I was thinking about either a papillon, pomeranian, japanese chin, or maltese.

I want to know if you recommend one of the breeds I was thinking about. If you have any questions or comments feel free to post them. I hope to hear from you!

I agree. These post are everywhere! A dog is a dog. Get a dog that you like, not a dog that a breed enthusiast can't stop talking about it. Everyone on this site is in love with a particular breed, usually the breed is in their user name. You can bet that they'll tell you to get that breed.

What I'll tell you to do is go to the shelter and save a life.

Puppyfind is just a place for backyard breeders or puppy mills to advertise their poorly bred dogs. A reputable breeder has no reason to advertise- because they have waiting lists and are known through word of mouth. Go to the breed's parent club's website and look for their page on recommended breeders.

never go by whatever someone is telling you to get. it is your choice. do research and find the right breed for you. I did research for 2 years before I got my breed, the cavalier king charles spaniel. if you cant find the right breed, go to a shelter and find the right dog or puppy. and never get a dog from a site like puppyfind.com, it is a horrible place where people can sell badly bred dogs and puppies for a quick buck or two.

Don't rely on people on the internet to make a decision as big as getting a dog.
