I have 2 Bouviers and I know they are not considered "giant" but one of them is the size of a great dane.

I don't think I have a favorite giant breed. I don't really know enough about them to make a "favorite" choice.

But then again, I just love all dogs, regardless of breed or size.

I like all breeds but cant get a big dog because,there too big!!

Of the choices, Irish Wolfhound--but my favorite breeds that you'd consider giants are Borzoi, Scottish Deerhounds and Kuvaszok.

English mastiffs are the best on that list. They're huge dogs, but I would love one someday.

Out of those choices not sure.

My favorites for giant breeds are

Kangal
Cane Corso
Boerboel

Although CC are not really giant they are a large breed.

The last Irish Wolfhound I saw was a very sweet dog, but is a little shrimp compared to my friends Dane who's the size of a small horse.

I have the pleasure of loving and being loved by a English Mastiff. She is my companion,(medical)friend,soul mate and face cleaner all in one.We have a large family with grandchildren, they all agree she is the #1 body pillow and monster chaser around. Her huge head and even larger mouth is gentler then a snowflake when it comes to wiping tears away from a crying adult or child.
I do believe all Giant breeds have this nature about them.
We do have other dogs, 4 Boston Terriers in fact. They think they are Mastiffs and I know as she climbs into my lap all 208lbs of her she thinks she is a Boston.
PS. Her weight is not a problem, as always under Vet care , she is just a Big Baby.

i like great danes and i want one really bad but i cant have one but i would say that out of that list i would say...Great danes and Swiss mt. dog

Personally, Great Danes... but I have three of my own, and co-own a fourth. Kind of biased.

Now, Kangals. Aren't those also Anatoliann or Turkish Mastiffs? The two ring a bell.

Nope. Kangals are Anatolian Shepherds/Turkish Mastiffs. Found it. Just another name, like the Dane is also the German Mastiff.
