I just watched the documentary American Pit Bull Terrier and I wondered which kind people would choose game or bully, taking in everything about both "styles"(bullies seem to have less of a tendency for dog aggression unlike game, but bullies cant really do work which is what they were originally bred for.)
To me, it makes no difference and if people didn't but "extra names" on the pit bull, I think it would be all for the better.
Game just means "my dog will fight any dog" to me. It's a derogatory term and really shouldn't matter at all in choosing a dog. The term came from pit bulls participating in games such as bull baiting etc. All of which is illegal and known as inhumane today, so why people would try to still breed that trait or condone it today is sickening. Why create a walking time bomb and give this fragile breed an even worse name.
I've never heard "bully" used before, and I think it's bs that because your dog is "bully" it can't work anymore.
Any dog can put forth any effort if trained correctly. Not every dog will excel at everything it tries, just like people they have positives attributes and negative attributes. Proper breeding will give an American Pit Bull Terrier the traits it's meant to have, none of which include "game" or "bully'.
If I never saw the word game wrote on this forum again in reference to pit bulls, it would make me so much more satisfied because in all honesty I think it's very low class and shows that a person cares more about their dogs aggression and toughness then providing a dog with a loving home. Gameness has nothing to do with how well a dog can weight pull either. Any dog can be conditioned and taught how to pull a load of bricks.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. This breed needs advocates that are educated, not people looking to own a tough dog that "looks cool" with it's cropped ears, tank body, and bad *ss attitude.

Angeeleta bully refers to the new breeding trend of short and wide also now known as the american bully though most still register these dogs and refer to them as th4e apbt.
I assure you because these dogs are "bully" certainly DOES mean they can't work, bowed short legs too big for their own structure and you have a bulldog.
I am glad they have chosen to call them american bullies and would wish people would stop tacking APBT on them still. Sure develop a new breed just don't call it apbt. The boston terrier did come from the apbt for example.
game doesnt mean my dog will fight any dog. game is the willingness that super drive only APBTs have. bully as badkittyamy said is these short, bow legged dogs that cant work. to me yes they look "cool" they're beautiful dogs but thats not the real reason i love the breed. but you have to think if you live in a tough neighborhood what kind of dog are you going to choose a pomeranian(sp) or a pit bull?

Just another "designer breed". I don't put any faith or credit into it, and don't support the business. Like you said, an APBT is such, and this is just people manipulating genetics and trying to breed a dog that appeals to those in the "hood" as pitt man so eloquently put it.
I kind of like the american bully...well certain forms of it. I don't mind a thicker pitbull being put into another breed, again like the bull and boston terrier. Many of these dogs are champions health tested etc.
I DO have a problem with it becoming so ridiculous it can't do ANYTHING and it's the same reason i HATE the modern English bulldog and don't support the breeding of them. When a dog has to be artificially inseminated and then have a c-section on top of that i find it a bit ridiculous.
