I prefer purebreds for the easier predictibility of temperament, breed characteristics and potential health problems.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't own a mutt. Sometimes the perfect mutt finds me and then all that other stuff isn't important any more...

Any dog I've ever had or will have has been and will be adopted from a shelter or rescue. I love mutts but I really like purebreds too. Right now I have two mutts but I'm getting a purebred soon(from rescue).

i have always only had mutts. that's not because i chose it to be that way, the dogs kind of chose me. if another dog finds its way into my life i couldn't care less if it was a mutt or a purebred.

I'm with what applesmom said.

I prefer purebreds but that doesn't mean I don't like or would never own a mutt.

iv only had purebred goldens, but ill hopefully be getting a mutt from 1 of my freinds. they're pooch had pups & there a toy poodle/shitzu mix. there so cute!!!!!!!!!!!

Mutts are the best dogs ever!
I'm a big fan of mutts. I've never owned a purebred and I'm not saying I never will, I just prefer mutts. Most people prefer purebreds because the temperment of the breed is more predictable, but I happen to live off unpredictable suprises . So mutts suit me to a T.

I prefer purebreds but mutts are okay.

mellypuffy, once again mutts are dogs too and so if you say they are stupid than I guess you think all dogs are stupid.

I happen to own a mutt and a purebred, and I worked at a dog shelter for a long time...the only real difference I noticed was that usually the mutts were alot more laid back and when they got owners, like mine, they seemed to fit in and almost physically appreciate being there more than a purebred from a breeder. But I think that might have something to do with them being shelter dogs. I love my babies equally, and I really couldn't choose between the two types.
