The basset hound is the only breed that could ever top my list! I'm a dog lover in general, but there's something about the basset I've always loved. And then when I got my baby boy, Dexter (he's 1!), I absolutely fell in love forever.
The best basset traits (I think): - That undeniable hound dog charm - Their waddle - Those velvety ears! (And the way they trip over them as puppies, and even sometimes as adults!) - That howl - Those big, beautiful eyes - The way they roll around in the grass - Their stubbornness. (Frustrating, but can also be extremely amusing and adorable) - The way they carry their tail, so proud! - Their cuddly nature. (They're just oversized lap dogs!) - That hound smell...most people hate it, I love it. - And, of course, they give the sweetest, sloppiest kisses!
My favorite breeds are Pit Bulls, Greman Shepards, and Wolf hybrids. Pits because they are good pets it just depends on how oyu raise them and as long as you are good to them they will be very loyal to you. Greman Shepards because they are great family pets and good protectors and listen really good. Wolf Hybrids because I had one when I was growing up, and I ahve t say that he was the best animal that I have ever had! He followed me every where, listed to every thing that I told him, and was all around a very very good animal.
My all time favorite would have to be the cocker spaniel, I literally grew up with one, he was well socialized & LOVED kids, a great friend. I miss him.. But my other favs would have to be the Newfoundland, and my old GS/Wolf hybrid
Well; I must say my absolute favorite dog is the Boxer. They come in a variety of colors such as fawn, brindle, and white, along with combinations of fawn and white or brindle and white which is called a flashy fawn or flashy brindle; but no matter what color they are, they're gorgeous animals. They are highly inteligent and eager to please, although sometimes they can be stubborn. They have tons of energy, and continue to be goofy and fun all throughout their lives, even in the older ages. Boxers are also fabulous family dogs, good with children and other animals.
English Cocker Spaniels are amazingly wonderful dogs.. They are however, a little high maintenance. They love to cuddle and play. My two cockers are a great joy in my life.
I love all types of breeds... pure breeds and mutts!! but my new favorite is the norwegian lundehund. mine just made a year. they are a very rare breed! they have 6 toes on each foot, can put their head back 180 degrees, and can spread their arms open as to give you a hug. besides all their odd body properties they are very intelligent, and loving.. they are really close to being primitive.
yorkies are my favorite because they are very loyal and loveable. Once you get on their good side, they are like your shadow. Plus, they are trained rather easily. The first kind on yorkies were acutally rat hunters in mines, until victorian ladies took a liking to them. Dashaunds are of course a very good breed, too. Very brave and adventrous. Dashaunds have powerful legs but rather vonerable backs. All the same, they both make good companionns.
