why's it gotta be purebred? plus you still wont know what it will look like if its purbred. puppies looks change most of the time. tons of pure pitts are in shelters and rescues. if you only wanna do weight pull i'd recommend getting a shelter pup to do that with.

You do realize that dogs have twice as many chromosomes then humans. Just because two dogs look a certain way is no guarentee about what a dog is going to look like when it's grown. Furthermore, if you did adopt a grown dog, then *gasp*, you would already know what it looks like.

Hard concept to grasp... but... TRUE.

ya I guess so... but pittman whats your problem with getting a rescue?!

If you look through his posts before... he came here awhile ago asking the same questions, looking for a breeder, didn't want to spend money etc.

Now he's back doing the same thing.

All of his posts got locked out before, and they most likey will be locked again. He's against adoption, and only wants a dog with mega street credit.

this is why pits are so overly populated and being killed and banned, because people like pittman buy and breed; instead of saving lives, he's giving the pound pups slips for death row by not adopting and he'll probably breed and make even more dogs who will be unwanted that will add to the population. street credit-why do you need that pittman?! its your best friend and family, not some "cool thuggy looking item" you take around. you cant even call yourself an amimal lover, if your going to actually kill pups by buying and breeding. its a shame... I wish their were more like us angeeleeta...

It's a shame that many people view dogs as commodities rather then living creatures with feelings. Fortunately, on a forum like this, you can reach out to people and educate. It just takes some patience and explanations, but it's surprising that people don't actually know about petfinder.com or breed rescues. Many people are also under the assumption that dogs are at shelters because something is wrong with the dog, not that almost 90% of dogs are in shelters because of human problems. Some people are beyond education and having an open mind. To those we walk our way, and let them walk theirs.

im not against adoption and dont say anything bout street cred i didnt say that and if i was getting a pup from a breeder itd be pet quality so itd have to be fixed anyway and yall know nothing of what ive done ive rescued lots of pits(sum mixed) cats birds vermin all kinds of animals. and i dont treat animals like an item just cuz someone wants a pit they want it for street cred and to look like they hard all yall doing is going back to the stereotypes and last time i checked doesnt help the breed at all. if i wanted to look like thug i would get 1 of those gotti or RE dogs but id never get 1 of those mutts and the i just dont like mutts no particular reason i just dont like em

if you just wanna pet quality go to a rescue or shelter then, and save 800 bucks.

i dont think shelter dogs are messed up theres difrent reasons owner cant care for em,owner died, stray dog, injured, etc. millions of reasons

go rescue one then, you'll be saving a life, isn't that even more rewarding than special papers and high breeding?

we critize because we love this breeds and over all dogs, and pits are too popular to buy one, its better to adopt. we arent trying to be mean or hurt your feelings, were just telling you good advise.

yea the only problem (well not so much a problem) is that around here pits get killed in the shelters so i think id ether have to go to austin or possibly houston

the ones around here no they think that all of the ones they get are fighters but i live by dallas so going down there is kind of a pain

Abadoned at the shelter, told to be killed because she's not worthy of living because she was gun shy(scared of guns, couldnt be used for hunting), since she wasnt able to be used for hunting she couldnt be used for breeding either.

Boo-boo: pitbull
Abadoned at the shelter, told to be killed because he had messed up ears, and he wasnt pretty enough for breeding or showing. he was high quality enough to live.

2 purebreds, rescued from death. after not being good enough.
