I am getting a puppy from a breeder and it will go to work with me. My boss lets us bring our dogs if their animal and people friendly(I work at a pet store). I have decided on some breeds and I have enough time and space of them. I understand all dogs have different personalities no-matter if their the same breed, but I would like to know what breed you think would be the best for being at the pet store free-roaming all day out of these breeds:
Australian Shepherd
Labrador Retriever
Bernese Mountain Dog

We already have a male labrador retriever, a male pitbull mix, a brother and sister pair of cattle dogs, a female dachshund, and a female basset hound who come in. Mine will be a female because I like having the girls better.

So which breed do you think would be the best as a pet store pup during the day: Australian Shepherd, Labrador Retriever, or Bernese Mountain Dog?

Why not go to a shelter and give a dog a home that doesn't have one?

Just because you get a certain breed doesn't mean it's going to act a certain way.

What I don't understand is why people come on here and ask a bunch of strangers what type of breed they should get.

You're the one who has to raise it, train it, take care of it, etc. Why do you care what a bunch of hacks on the internet think.

If your planning on doing AKC events with it, then maybe you should have a better idea of what breed does what events.

I think buying a breed of dog based on just the fact of how it will work in the pet store environment is an ill made decision. What about all the other needs the dog has, and all the other environments it will be in? What about the AKC events you want to do with it?

Not to mention, you're the one who works in the pet store, shouldn't you know what breed would fit in best at your particular store? Also, no dog should be left to roam around unsupervised. That's a big liability. Not just because of what your dog could do, but what someone could do to your dog around an aisle where you can't see them.

-Yes I get it about what other needs it has.
-I want to do confermation.
-Yes I know about breeds.
-The dog will only have free roam while I'm on break and can supervise it, otherwise it will be walking around with me while I stock shelves or do cashier.

I have got 2 dog from a breeder of labradors on the 8th. They went to the store today and loved to play with the other dogs at work.
