I was thinking of getting another dog (if my mom lets me).
I already have a collie puppy (whom i love sooo much Smile ).

Should I get another collie or try some other kind of dog? I like dogs that are kind of out of the ordinary; dogs that you dont see too often. So no retreivers, even though they have good personalitites.

Ok thanks! The only thing is that before I got my collie, I was going to get a husky but the breeder that we contacted said that they have a tendancy to wander Confused. And since we are moving to a farm, we can not have a dog that wanders away

you don't see newfoundlands very often. the bad part is that if they're hot they drool. also, I don't think I've ever seen a curly coted retriever in person. or a german wirehaired pointer. or a vizla. or a great dane. a sheltie would look so cute to go with the collie! its like its mini version! an english sheepdog is something you don't see every day. Hungarian Puli sheep dog. or... a westie!!!! or a portuguese water dog. or a bernese mountain dog

I know that all dogs are different and you cant judge a breed on one dog. Sadly my mom said no that I already have too many animals Frown

Not going to lie, I'm going to be bias, lol. Min Pins are great pets if you're real active. My huabsnd and I are friends with another married couple and they have a collie as well, and he loves our Min Pins. Miniature Pinschers are loyal, protective, and loving pets. A farm would be the perfect enviroment for them too since they love to run, and will always call back. If you want a dog that acts like a puppy it whole life, but can still be potty trained, a Min Pin would be the way to go.

GREAT SUGGESTION!!! I'm always supporting my local no-kill shelter; donating food & items & $$ since I already have 2 rescues. When I'm down to one again, someday, I'll be back looking for the perfect shelter dog!! THANKS!

I Love Puggles. If you can afford some money than Puggle is the best choice. Puggle are small, cute and cuddly. They are happy upbeat little dogs that are absolutely delightful. They usually like to cuddle and take up little space. The Puggle is small enough to fit in a litter box saving you the effort of housebreaking him outside.

I'm new to this mine is only eleven weeks old, but i highly recommend a boxer. He's already incredibly loyal and easy to train. They are however high energy dogs make sure you have some time to walk/run them every day.

If you can AFFORD one? A puggle is a MUTT they aren't anything because they're a MUTT they can;t have a specific size or breed type because they aren't a breed they're a MUTT. Stop advertising bad breeding practices on boards where people actually care about animals. No one breeding "designer dogs" has any interest in anything other than MONEY.

No one should be paying anything over an ADOPTION fee for a MIXED DOG. It's not a puggle it's a pug beagle mix and the type size look ad temperament is as varied as any other MUTT

im with badkittyamy when it comes to these 'designer' pets. people just try to make money saying that they are 'the best of both breeds put into one'. they are truley just mixed dogs, and although alot of them can be nice, i am just not a mixed dog kind of person.

unfourtunatly, where i live pitbulls are banned. i think they are nice dogs <my mom hates them>. but i would personally rather go for a bull terrier <i looove them>.

im still working on it but eventually i would like to get another dog from the hearding group out here on our farm. maybe a welsh corgi.

im glad to say though that my collie is now almost full grown and loving it out here. he keeps himself buisy playing with the cats...until i can convince my mom to get another dog lol

sorry for the rant just everything on the news is how obama might be getting a "labradoodle" which cheeses me greatly. A president with a designer mutt? you can bet those puppy peddlers will be cashing in.

an active pup sould have another active pup like a greyhound or a pit or rott or beagle but defently no a mutt or a chiwawa or anthing that likes to be pamperd like that i think dogs are better medium or large there easer to keep track of and are good for many things there good compaions.

now i have a question for amy if puggles arent real breeds are shnoodles real or laboodles because in a game i have there considerd a real breed and i didnt know im only 13.

I'm always promoting the shelter pet! Go to you local shelter and check out what mixed and purebreds they have.

A dog is a pet, and any dog can make a great pet!
