I had a boxer, wonderful dog. She died of old age and lived to be 13 which is old for boxers. I miss her a lot. I also have a mini dachsund, I love him but I loved the boxer breed better (not as hard to train IMO). Boxers tend to have cancer and health issues though, so know that going in. There are also many boxer rescue groups.
I am currently in the process of rescuing a doberman pinscher. I want an adult or older puppy. I will always rescue, never buy and especially from a pet store (sorry to offend). As I have done my homework I have realized there are SO many dogs that need homes, especially due to the economy and I feel a burden to help these poor animals. There are many breed rescue organizations, many that are given up for things that can be fixed. Obviously you can't put your family in danger if it is a serious behavior issue, but watching Victoria Stilwell has really opened my eyes.
I wish you all the best in whatever decision you make. Smile

It is best to take your time and research what is right for you. Questions like Am I going to keep it inside?,Do I have kids?,Does the puppy or dog have room to run and play?, How much can I spend on food?, Am I a outgoing person?,Etc.Raising a puppy or taking care of a dog is a lot of work, money, and responsibility.

I Have the cutest dog ever! She is named Stella and is a pure white teady bear, except around the eyes. Teady bears come in all sorts of colors and range from 8 -16b pounds. They are half shi tzu and half bichon frise.
