I'm glad there is a new season of Overhaulin' but I really miss AJ. After 2 episodes I'm thinking the pranks are lacking a bit this season.

That's because they did away with the pranks.

I agree...it's not the same without AJ.

Dude's, I'm totally lost. Overhaulin is my favorite show of all time. I thought it was cancelled 2 years ago. It was on every Thursday night, then poof, it was gone. My on line cable guide won't let me see if it's on this Thursday or not, so I'm really hoping. My wife and I are big car fanatics, I have a 92 Camaro Rs 25th Anniversary, and a 57 Chevy 2 door sedan (I could only wish Chip would do for me), and my wife has a 83 Camro Z-28. Her car is really sweet, but both mine need a lot work, (please have pity on me Chip, please have Chris come and get them both, I would forever be in you debt).
Anyway I will hold my breath until Thursday night and hopefully watch again the only truely good show on TV.
And not to forget..... A.J.'s gone? No way... First Courtney and now A.J. That's a serious bummer.
My wife and I were talking last night about the show, so I thought I would do a search and it landed me here, I'm stoked now, there is a car god. Thank you.

your car fanatic friend

Yeah the pranks were done away with........

As far as AJ goes..... seh was married to the old producer.... she when he was let go... .well..... 1 + 1 = you get the idea.. I was involved with 6 of the 7 new episodes and although I liked the projected new format.... the finished product on film looks a little ... how do i put it... "public television" the audio is choppy at times and the camera work sees a little different...... its not the same.. but i do like having less pranks and more about the cars and the history in some of teh cars.

Hey insane01vwpassate,

Is there anyway you can covince Chip and Chris to do my 92 Camaro T-Top 25 anniversary RS on the show. I have an awesome story if you would like to hear it. I want to give the car to my wife, it means more to her than me, and it means a lot to me. Normally I wouldn't ask anyone for this kind of help, but I really want her to have this car. I am going to mail in the application and photos of the car on Friday 5/16/08. If there is any chance you can help me I would be forever gratefull. Just let me know here and I will then give you all my information.
Thanks,
57 Chevy Guy (aka.....Rick)

Hey, Jason. The official application for the show is now on Chip Foose's website, chipfoose.com. Click the link on the front page then fill out and mail in the application with the photos they ask for.

Good Luck!

You need to have a sob, sappy story to be on,it can't be, some guy just can't finish his car, it has to be all teary and emotional.

The new format has one positive. That stupid song Gasoline is gone! After 4 seasons I wanted to kick the tv every time that song played. They always used it open the show and to demo the new stereo during the reveal. It gets really obnoxious after you hear it for the 40th time.

Overhaulin was never the same after Courtney Hansen left. She was a genuine grease monkey from a racing family. I don't think AJ ever learned the difference between a Phillips head screwdriver and a socket wrench. Wink I'm sure they could find another female cohost with a racing background. Christi Edelbrock has been on the show several times. But she's Edelbrock’s Vice President of Advertising and Marketing). She probably doesn't have the time to cohost regularly.

It was a nice shock seeing this show come back. It seemed like it was off the air for at least a year. I thought it was canceled long ago.

Production wise, I'd like to see the show strike a tone similar to Rides. Rides has a nice feel to it. It's actually pretty cool and definitely not a PBS style production.

now without the old theme song, its not as good as it was before. and i really don't like the "COMES TOGETHER" thing that they say, i like D day and stuff, the pranks, the girl host, and not focusing on CARS too much. TOO MUCH ABOUT CARS now... I would rather like them do it for unsuspecting car owners instead of just people "who couldn't finish their cars".(lazy or whatever..)

Ok guys, Two things...

One- "Gasoline" is an awesome song.

Two- I want Courtney and AJ back.

I love listening to that song and watch that 57 sedan become a covertible.
And it just so happens I have a 2 door sedan sitting in my garage, and if Chip wants to do it like that one for the credits I would have no objection. All I can say about it is the frame is solid. And it has no engine or front fenders. I would not even mind if he painted it exactly like that one in the credits.

Bring back Gasoline!!!!!!! Kicking Harold is awsome.

I'm torn about having eye candy on the show.
Courtney wasn't much to look at, but she new something about cars.
AJ is hot but she didn't know jack.

RatrodderX,
How can you say that about Courtney? Dude, she's awesome and she knows about cars. What more can a guy ask for? A beautiful girl and awesome cars, the only thing missing is an ice cold Pepsi, (sorry no beer, I'm driving). haha.
As for the pranks, how about this weeks show. They totally took the guy in the beginning. It was awesome. I like that very much.
