Dear Overhaulin Team,
I am Harley Collins, and my brother, Bear, and I would like for you to consider an overhaul for our father. Marty (or just "Daddy" for us) is 40, and has been working since he was 16, battling a knee injury from high school football the whole time. He's had 3 surgeries on his right knee, and requires another for his left knee, as he recently tore his meniscus.
He had lived a full life with several hobbies, but his favorite was historical re-enactment, and he was a knight and jouster, and you can even see a photo of him on Wikipedia, Jousting for the Knights of the Azure Cross (it's the first picture, and he's the black knight) at the Golden Gate Renaissance Festival. It was through these knights, his close friends, that he obtained his 71 Ford F150 Custom. He had big dreams of fixing it up and making it something to be proud of, including a "ghosted" (painting technique) Knight on horseback, jousting down the sides of the truck.
Unfortunately, he also has a very demanding job. He is the head of athletic fields for Sanger United School District, and his fields are known well throughout California. Maintaining such high standards keeps him very busy, especially during football season. The hardest part of this all, is that during football season and baseball season, all the extra time he puts into his fields to make them look perfect for the teams, is not paid for. He does it as volunteer work because it’s “for the kids.” He always tells my brother and me that he wants the kids to know that “all this is for them, and they should have the ability to say, ‘I played on that amazing field.’” Truly, he does amazing things, and often is not believed when he tells people that he freehand paints and letters the fields. It’s a process that’s taken him 19 years to perfect, and really is one of his biggest prides. He’s one of the most well-known men in town for this dedication.
Bear and I think it’s high time my father was given something for all the time he puts in with the youth of our town, and all that he gives to his job. He works long hours, and the pay is enough to put both us kids through college and maintain the home, but that’s about it. This truck is his dream come true, but he doesn’t have the time or money to accomplish this dream. Hopefully, with your help, we can pay back a small portion of what our father is owed. Thank You so much for your time and consideration!

Dear Overhaulin', My boyfriend has had a dream of fixin up his '87 OLDS that his brother bought for him a long time ago. Instead we decided to buy a house for our family. While I am glad we chose this... I would still love for him to realize his dream! For him to see his car would absolutely make all of his dreams come true. He is a wonderful man and I would soooo love to be able to "overhaul" his car for him! Please consider this for us!! Thank You so so much!

Hey Overhaulin Crew. I would like you to consider my Husband and Nephew for a overhaul. My story is that my husband and I have a 1950 Ford F1 and we came on to hard times and were going to sell the truck. My nephew gave us a buch of different things to get the truck from us so it would stay in the family. My nephew plans on getting it running and having my husband do the paint. My nephew just got the news that he needs back surgery and my husband works to much to have the time to fix it. They love each other dearly and my nephew worships the ground my husband walks on. We are currently trying to catch up on bills and my husband has worked for the same concrete company for 16 years and has nothing to show for his years of such hard work. I would love to get them both. I dont know if coming to colorado is an option but the way both of these guys watch your show and love your work it would be a dream of all dreams to have this truck done by all of you. Thanks

My husband and I were just married in August and I want to plan something special for his upcoming 40th birthday. He has a 1988 porsche 944 that he loves. He was willing to sell it to help pay for our wedding to be all that I wanted. But we found another way and I am so happy because I know he loves it and wants to fix it up and get it back on the road. Now we are hoping to buy our first home and I told him not to sell it towards our downpayment, we wil find another way. Its been off the road for several year and it was a pleasant surprise when he recently moved it to be stored at a friends home and it started right up. It definately needs some work--interior for sure. My husband went back to school full time and is finishing up his degree. It was tough for he and I to make the sacrifice to be on one income for 2 years and plan for a wedding. But he made the move to be able to provide a better future for us and our future family. He is a fan of overhaulin and an artist at heart. He even did some contract work with a local hotrod shop to provide customers with a artistic rendering of their final product while their car was being worked on at the shop. It would be a dream to me to see him able to get his car on the road in style as it has been off road for several years while he works hard in school toward our future together. He deserves it and I konw he would totally appreciate it. If your team is interested in working on a 944 please let me know. He would be so surprised!!

Dear Overhaulin, All you mamma’s boys get your tissues ready. When my fiancé, Dane turned 16 his mom was bound and determined to get him the car of his dreams … a ’66 mustang (the same car his parents started their life together with). Being the middle class family that they were they searched and searched and were finally able to find a baby blue beauty … ok maybe it wasn’t a beauty but it ran. It was a “fixer-upper” but Dane didn’t care she soon became his pride and joy. While in high school Dane was an outstanding athlete as well as one of the top in his class with dreams of going to pharmacy school. His mom made a deal with him that if he was able to get a full ride scholarship to college she would pay to have his “baby” completely restored. Low and behold two years later Dane held up his end of the deal and was offered a full ride academic/athletic scholarship to North Central Texas College. Everything he worked so hard for was finally within reach until two weeks later Dane’s family received devastating news … his mom was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. Dane immediately wanted to turn down his scholarship to be home with his mom but she forced him to keep pursuing his dream. Dane obviously wanted to do what would make his mom happy and proud so he bravely took the next step forward. Soon after leaving for school Dane’s sister decided to take the car on a joy ride without his permission and wrecked it by hitting a pole on the passenger’s side. To this day his sleek beauty now has a black eye! So while Dane was in class and on the ball field his mom was fighting for her life. Of course, all the money that was saved for his “baby’s” makeover was now put to a more important use … saving his mom’s life. They poured every cent they had into experimental drugs and research. After a year of being away from his family Dane made the life changing decision to give up his scholarship and move home to help the family financially. He got a job waiting tables and brought home every cent he could scrape up. Once his family was a little more financially stable Dane received another offer to play ball at Southern Arkansas University. Upon his mom’s insistence to “grow up and be his own man” he accepted the offer and moved even further away from home to try to pursue his dream of becoming a pharmacist to help other’s fight their battle just like his mom was doing. After three years of fighting her disease the family had lost their battle and the one person who held them together. Bound and determined to finish what he started, Dane returned to school shortly after her passing to get his degree and make his mom proud. Being the huge mamma’s boy that he was, and the constant reminder of his mom not being at home anymore, day to day life was a constant battle. He was also unable to take the most important part of his mom with him due to the condition of the car. Therefore it sat in the garage and hasn’t moved since. Three years have past since we lost his mom and Dane has now graduated with his bachelor’s in biology and was just accepted to Texas Southern University’s Pharmacy Program! His dreams are beginning to take off but the Mustang still awaits. The reason I am writing you is because Dane has never and would never ask for help from anyone but I walked outside the other day and saw him sitting in his dream car that wouldn’t run, with tears in his eyes. He told me that he wished he could take his mom for one more ride around the block. Dane has all but given up on his dream of making this car the eye catcher it once was. He watches your show religiously and is amazed at how y’all transform every car into the muscle it could be. Dane has worked so hard to overcome every obstacle God has thrown in his path and get to where he is now. We are getting married soon and although his mom will be with us in spirit, knowing how special it was for her to give this car to Dane, I can’t think of a better wedding gift than to be able to fulfill his and his mom’s dream of making this car the restored classic they always knew it could be. I know that you guys are many miles away but I would be ecstatic if you paid us a visit. This adventure would truly allow us to start our life together right by riding away in the same car his parents did to start their lives! I apologize for the length of this letter but I feel it is important for you to understand Dane’s story of the struggles he has gone through and the achievements he has made despite the hand he was dealt. Please, Overhaulin, help me make this happen.
Sincerely, Lindsay anxiously-waiting-to-be-Lucas on 7/9/11

Dear Overhaulin
My name is Sam Walters and I would like for you to consider my father for an overhaulin. When he was younger he got a 69 Camaro and now all it does is rot away in our garage. The paint is barely visible, no one has been inside of it for years and it doesn't run. He is a self employed engineer and is constantly working around the clock. We have so many projects on our to do list that his car has been bumped down to the bottom. Its his dream to retire and get his car fixed up. I know he works very hard to see me and the rest of my family happy and never puts himself first. I just wish I could return the favor and put a smile on his face and I know giving his a car a full makeover would do just that. Thanks Overhaulin!

Dear Overhaulin,
My name is James, I'm 18 years young. I'm hoping you would consider this request for my dad. He has a 1955 chevy pick up. He has had this truck since he was 16. He is 47 now. The truck has never really been a real looker. Its not exactly the prettiest thing out there. But my dad is still in love with it. Out of all the years that he has had it, it has never let him down. He would do all the repairs on it himself just to keep it running so he could get back and forth to work. Like I said earlier, its not in great shape. She has "some" rust on her. The reason I think my dad should get his truck overhauled is because last summer, he was diagnosed with cancer. He is deffinitly going to need surgery but he doesnt want it because he cant afford to take the time off work. Also becuase with the surgery, he would need a colostomy bag. He doesnt want this beacuse all the stuff he likes to do, ride quads, ride his street bike, he just wont be able to do anymore. So I was thinking that if he has his truck fixed up that could be his means of having fun. Things are going pretty bad for my family and myself right now. My three siblings, my mom and I deffinitly dont want lose him but at the rate things are going now, it's deffinitly a possibility. So I was just thinking that if his baby for more than 30 years were able to get restored that it would in a way be his means of having fun. And possibly give him a reason to be happy again.
Thank you... James Grizzard
my email is jgrizzard16@yahoo.com if you decide that its a possibility

Hi Overhaulin Guys! My name is Ashlyn. My husband, Matthew, commissioned to the Air Force this May as a 2nd Lieutenant. We are currently stationed in Minot, North Dakota and plan on having to be here for a few years. We are both originally from central Pennsylvania, which is also where our families, friends, and memories still remain. I grew up as a small town, farm girl that has never moved, while Matthew grew up as an Air Force brat. His father served in the Air Force for 28 years before retiring to Pennsylvania. Both Matthew and his father own Chevy Novas. Matthew has a '73 Nova SS and his father has a '68 Nova. Matthew's dad has owned his car for something like 30 years. He's been able to restore different parts of the car over the years but it is still in serious need of help! His father would actually be a great candidate for overhaulin' as well.... Matthew purchased a '70 Nova when he turned 16. He loved working on his father's nova and so wanted to carry that love into his first car. Unfortunately, he totaled the '70 not very long after he started driving. Even with the accident, Matthew was determined to own a nova, so he bought his current '73 Nova. Since then, he has been able to afford a few upgrades but has not been able to totally overhaul it the way he would like. It has been made even more difficult since we had to make the tough decision to leave it in Pennsylvania, while we moved half way across the country. Matthew has been putting aside money and ideas for years but we are nowhere near being able to make this the car of his dreams. My dream is for Matthew to have the beautiful muscle car he deserves. He's always worked hard to make me happy and he now works hard to serve this country. I would love to see Matthew be able to show off the car he loves so much. To be able to go to car shows with his father and be proud of what he owns. I want him to have a car to maintain with his sons/daughters whenever they come along. Please consider Matthew for an episode of Overhaulin'. We love your show and think what you do is definitely a work of art. It would be a dream come true for us to have that Nova be overhauled! Thank you for your time and consideration.
Thank you,

Hello Overhaulin A-Team,
My Name is Audelia and I would like for you to take into consideration my husband, Nick's 1947 dodge plymouth as an overhaul. You'd be surprised that this old, old vehicle still runs with it's orginal flat head 6 engine. There have been many times that he has wanted to get rid of it, but my mom and I won't let him. He bought this car about 5 years ago thinking he would have the money and time to fix it himself. However, due to several setbacks beginning with his mom passing away, him going under major surgery, after surgery, after surgery, after surgery, we haven't been able to save money to fix it. It was his dream to fix this car and drive his mom around the city and although his mom is no longer with us, I would so much love to be able to get this done for him and him see this part of his dream come true.
Thanks so much for your time and consideration!

Smile But she has duck tape keeping her sunroof on and really needs some paint. I also got into a fender bender and pushed in the radiator so the fan is rubbing. These are all things that we can't afford to fix. We both watch your show all the time and I would love to find out how to prank my hunny. I can't think of anyone who deserves it more! Bounce1

Dear Foose and crew, My name is steven, I live in washington state and I was wanting to know if you guys could do me a favor, I am a soldier in the army and I am stationed at fort lewis been deployed more than once, and I have a wife who means the world to me. I dont have a sad story or anything like that, my wife is a serious fan of your show and and absolutely loves the work you guys have done. I would love to have her pranked on your show. she has a 1999 pontiac grand prix gt with a 3.8 V6 engine. The car needs some TLC and paint work done to her, she absolutly loves the car and I would love for her to have it customized by chip and the crew and I would love to have her meet chip and the crew. I know some people that can help be involved in the prank, one is a sheriff that is a friend of the family. The car has been stolen before and we got it back a couple hours later so I know how she would react to that, and it would be an awesome set up for her. I don't expect this to happen because there are way more people out there that have other stories and reasons for them to be overhauled, but if you guys can find it in your hearts to do this my email is steven.lee.moore@us.army.mil

Hello Overhaulin Team. My name is Karey. I am writing about my husband. He is a mechanic and works crazy hours. We have been married for three years now. I have a 6 year old little boy who he swooped up and made him his own. They are just alike now. We found out we were pregnant last November and were so excited.I gave birth to our little girl on June 26, 2009 she was stillborn. Born an angel. We miss her so much. My husband, Josh, never left my side he is the greatest man I have ever had the privilage of meeting. He has since allowed me to quit my job and stay home. I have not been up to working much. I just think it would be such a way to brighten up his day to have his truck fixed. He works on the maintenace of it whenever he has time but we are kinda tight on funds now. I would just love to see him smile. Thank you for your time, Karey

Hello A Team,
While I realize that there are many deserving individuals inquiring about getting their loved one's cars overhauled on your show, I would like to nominate my boyfriend's truck. While his truck is not terribly old (we bought it new in 2006), It is definately in need of some upgrades and maintenance. I bought this truck (2006 Chevy Silverado) for my boyfriend, Ty on his birthday a few years ago, and he was so excited, this was his first new vehicle EVER, and he has wanted to lift it and truly make it his own for the past few years. Instead of doing this, however, he has instead worked constantly to support us while I finished my Masters degree, often working more than 80 hours a week and with not nearly enough payback for his sacrifice. Even with all of his hard work we haven't even been able to scrape up enough to get him new tires, much less have time to actutally work on new additions to the truck. I can think of no one else more deserving of being overhauled, he gives so much to everyone he knows, and does just about anything within his capabilities for anyone, so I hope that if you ever find your way to south Texas, you will consider my boyfriend for your program.
Thank You,
Melanie
