This request is for my older brother, Don Todd He has been a great role model to me and my other brothers as well as thousands of atheletes he has coached over the years. He was a very successful high school coach in Texas, before going to the University of Houston in 1970. In 1973 he was named defensive coordinator until 1985- when during the 3rd quarter of the Cotten Bowl against Boston College, he suffered a mild stroke. He finished the game( unbelievable) and ultimately had to quit coaching after several surgeries proved unsuccessful. He is now suffering many health problems, with heart related and kidney problems. Several years ago before his health began to fail he started on his own overhaul of a 1939 Ford truck. He completely overhauled a 350 chevy engine and increased the horspower to what he thinks is about 480 hp. The engine is still in another vehicle. The bed to truck needs to be put on also. He has always been great at working on anything mechanical as we all grew up on a West Texas farm and our dad taught us how to work and repair our engines. The problem is that he is not physiacl able at this point to do the work anymore and I know it would lift his spirits to be able to drive his Ford truck after you give it an overhaul. He has touched and influenced so many young men across the nation and I would like to have you help him accomplish his "overhauling dream". Please let me know if this is the right place to apply. Thank you for considering this request. You can contact me: J.E. Todd at jetlint@verizon.net
