I'm so excited to watch Jeff's special on the Himalayas!!! Although I don't know if AP will be showing here in Asia on the same date. Better check our TV schedule.
Watch the preview! My gosh!!! He really put on some weight! lol
Yeah, he did. I was thinking it was because it was so cold there so he had to "store" the extra fat. (HaHaHa! This is me and my denial he's being taken good care of by Tasha--- )
Do you think Jeff will challenge himself by actually climbing Mt. Everest? The very first Filipino team are scheduled to climb the treacherous mountain (bless my countrymen! and women! The first Asian (Filipina) women are there too for the experience!!!) this year.
Can't help but think about him freezing... I guess we all need to be there for him to keep him warm, right ladies?
I don't care if he's put on a little weight (which I hadn't noticed by the way). It's his personality, sense of humor, passion, intelligence and easy-going spirit that makes him so attractive. (I'm not saying he's not drop-dead gorgeous- which he is...) I'm just saying it doesn't matter...
On Ellen today, Jeff said he finds a 400 pound injured Yeti, they nurse it back to health, and we get to see it in the special! He actually did it! I can't wait!
What complete and total BS. I am done with Corwin and Animal Planet. He was on every station this week claiming that they found a Yeti and it would be seen. So for 2 hours I waited to see him say that basically he is a liar.
I’ve watched these research shows for a long time and the thing I’ve noticed is that they never cover enough ground efficiently enough. Why not construct a research blimp and cover more ground, have good meals, showers, equipment and repel down to multiple locations at will. Video from the sky. Someone might actually find a Yeti using this technique.
I think it's spelled "Abdominable Snowman"--- HaHaHa. I just watched Monsters, Inc. again last night and wondered the same thing; why not "Adorable Snowman"?

I find it funny someone called Jeff a liar when he claimed they have found the yeti. The thing is, he said they found "the creature" the people from the Himalayas call the yeti--- and it was 400lbs and everything... It doesn't mean though that they finally put an end to the mystery.
And you're right, riano27, it would have been in the news long before. So why wasn't it? Because AP and Jeff might have thought the same thing: the yeti isn't really a mythical creature but just an undiscovered species of a great white ape or something, and them having discovered it and filmed it doesn't make any difference to the people who have lived with it all throughout their lives. Their mission now is not to make a big fuss out of it but to tell us, those who aren't there to see it, how the mystery and the creature survived years of ice and undocumented existence.
And no, I haven't seen the episode as I am writing this and I don't think AP Asia will show it any sooner... But I try to keep an open mind about things I have never seen and never experienced before.
So to anyone who attacks Jeff Corwin and AP, please... Try to imagine you were the one who was there to treat the injured creature "the Himalayans call the yeti" and think if you'd call yourself a liar.
Yes, he is a liar when he claims that the viewer will see a 'yeti' on 4 major news networks all week and even shows clips of him helping something we assume is a 'yeti' (looked more like a bear). There was nothing 400lbs injured or rescued. It is even funnier that someone who has not seen the show or the events leading up to it is here to defend Corwin and his obvious propaganda paid for by Disney.
I agree that if a true 'yeti' was found it would have been in the news, but I am just rehashing exactly what Jeff said multiple times this week. Be it a bear, leopard or what have you....there should have been something on the show that remotely resembled his comments besides the new species of ant he found (i think the scientist he was with said they find hundreds of new ant species each year so that is no big deal).
I watched the Realm of the Yeti and was sooooo disapointed that I doubt that I will ever watch any of Jeffs big adventers again. I can watch someone find an ant anytime. I didnt care to see Rhino poop or anything like that I wanted to see a Yeti or at least something to show the chance there could be one. Seems his show was about everything but looking too hard for proof. He would only talk about it for maybe ten minutes every half hour then call some bear a Yeti, Does that mean the people that live there dont know the differnce between 7 and 8 feet tall from something 4 foot long, and the "scalp" in the beginning of the show didnt look anything like the head of a bear. Jeff your going to have to do better than that, at least other shows about Yeti's or Bigfoot comes up with an howl or a footprint anyway.
I think that the crypto people can't accept the fact that the experts didn't find a yeti in the mountains. I think they should come to the fact that this creature might not even exist.
I watched Realm Of The Yeti tonight, and I enjoyed it very much. Although it really was just a 2 hour promotion for Disney's new attraction, Jeff seemed to be out of his element. Maybe we should let him stick with encountering already known animals instead of those that might not even exist.
And for all those people that say he's a liar; he's not. When he was out promoting this show last week, he said they encountered an animal that is the real yeti-the one that fits the description of many local tales. The real yeti. It's clear that he thinks that the sloth bear is the real yeti.
I don't think any crypto people ever thought this expedition was going to find an actual yeti in the sense of an unidentified species. What is inexcusable is just the tremendous level of factual errors (see previous link). The show's producers and research staff dropped the ball here, but I suppose that is the nature of all 'unexplained' and most 'science' type programs on TV in general - satisfying and maybe even illuminating to the masses, pathetic to anyone who has actually READ on said subject.
Wow..........some of Jeff's fans are really taking this show a bit too seriously.....Ya thiiiink??????????? Take it easy, it's just a T.V show. Whether promoted by Disney, or just another so called documentary, I think it was entertaining. The scenery was awsome and just knowing that Jeff was not able to take a shower for 2 weeks, makes me appreciate his work even more. It can not possibly be that pleasurable to do the work that he does. He certainly gets paid well, and gets to see the world, but no matter what it is difficult to do what he does too. I went with my family on a vacation to Costa Rica and there was no work involved and I was exhausted. Being away for almost 3 weeks away from home is hard work..........I loved his show anyway.... And I think there was a lot more than the Yeti to take away from this episode!!!!!!
yeah, Kikifa...i agree. It IS a tv show after all. I did not get to watch it, but even if it WAS dissappointing, it still doesn't discredit (is that a word?)his passion and teachings from all the previous shows. btw, any chance that Jeff was the one influencing you to go to Costa Rica? He sure was for me. and i really enjoyed it, though it wasn't 3 weeks.
The Yeti was a fantastic show and yes Jeff appeared to have gained a little weight which he may have needed to do to explore and survive the environment. After all remember he did mention that it had been a couple of weeks since he had taken a shower. Perhaps he was eating instead. Hee! Hee! Kudos to Jeff and his team for the willingness to bring fascination and yet still mystery to one of the most unexplored countries on the planet. Still in all wasn't a complete loss, several possible new species may have been discovered and leave it to Jeff to dip his hand in a puddle of water and awe the world and fans like myself everytime. Although, it had to be a complete let-down not to get to examine the scalp sample. Maybe they didn't want Jeff the take the mystery out of it all when he proved it to be a fake. After all if Discovery can sample the pieces rumored to be the Gospel of Joseph. They should have allowed Jeff to sample a piece of scalp. Jeff don't let the negativity on your weight get you off balance. I'll keep watching and learning and being ever amazed and your dedication to science and animals around the world. Jeff is truely the best no matter what his size and besides.. He may go to the desert and loose it in a couple of days. Keep on climbing Jeff the world is yours to discover and we are the world watching. I am your biggest fan and a lioness that's free. God love you..
Very well said.......Garfy and Lioness. Afterall Jeff is about education and opening our fans' minds to new ideas. And yes Jeff was one of the reasons for our travel plans, and he definitly did not disappoint.
Your rude comments to badger_faith were rude and uncalled for. You have no business slamming one of his biggest fans like that. I thought his show was great - he explorer the legend and left questions in your mind about what the locals could have possibly seen - bear? cat? or just a legend that has been passed on to them through stories.
I love Jeff Corwin's shows. He's always entertaining and never disappoints.
Hey everybody, let us all remember that this is just a TV show and it took alot of effort and many hours to make it possible,I think we should give Jeff some much needed credit.I would really like to see some of you get up off your fanny and go try and do what Jeff does. The guy really does go through alot of effort, frustration, etc. to do what he does, not only for this episode but in every episode Jeff has ever done or will ever do.Maybe the yeti exists, maybe it doesn't.There are alot of things in the world then can be easily debated for hours on end to try and determine if they are real or not.I think it is quite ignorant that Jeff should be called a liar, unless there is 100% prove otherwise.Alot of people on here need to growup
