The War That Never Was.

The was that was probably planned for more than any other in history yet never fought.

I would love to see a two hour program (or longer) that looks at a hypothetical World War 3 between NATO and the Warsaw Pact in say 1989 or 1990 perhaps.

With conflicts with North Korea, perhaps Cuba and in other outlying regions at the same time.

Nonnuclear for the most part but with chemical weapons used by both sides to some extent.

I'm thinking something along the lines combining Sir John Hacketts "The Third World War:August 1985", the Harpoon wargames, and "The War That Never Was" by Michael Palmer.

The Military Channel certainly has enough footage of militar hardware from both sides more than adequate for such a program.

Add in a good scenario and some computer graphics and there you are.

It is history. Because the planning and preparation for such a war dominated the military planning and expenditures of the worlds most advanced nations for years.

I think it would be interesting.
