It is a good day, the sun is shining, the birds are singing.
A perfect year to give birth, so Holly has give birth to a litter of pups, Flower is one of them. Holly comes out of the burrow and look up to the sky, she can see her mother, she died from a snake bite, she was such a good leader, why she (Holly) can’t become so good like her mother? But she knows that her daughter Flower will become such a good leader as her grandmother was.
Holly go’s back into the burrow again, to give her little pups some milk.
Dark clouds come for the sun, every meerkat go to hide.
A few weeks after Flower and her littermates can go on there first foraging trip.
Its good weather so there will be enough food for all the meerkats and pups. As Holly is on the place she has looked for she begins digging, Flower watch what her mother is doing. That is a sign that she will made it to an adult; all the other pups are play fighting and eating from the food that the adults bring to them. But it are just pups so they don’t know what to do whit food. As the group continue there search for food a stranger appears, who is it? He approaches the group carefully, but he is seen before he can get to the Young Ones lady’s.
He runs of and everything is calm again. A few months later the pups can find food on theirselfs, Flower has find a tasty scorpion, but how you eat them? Flower removes the sting whit her teeth, now she can eat it. But their comes her sister and she steals the scorpion, Holly sees it and she catch a millipede for Flower. Holly still doubts of she can become such a good leader as her mother was. A few months later is Flowers first birthday, and she can now mate at all.
Holly must keep a close look on Flower, as she mates Holly must evict her out of the group, or she must kill the pups of Flower. As the group is foraging a stranger appears, his name is Zaphod, he is four now and has never mated before. He sees Flower and smells that she is ready to mate. He carefully sneaks up to Flower and grooms her. Flower likes Zaphod accept him as a mate. When Zaphod is ready whit mating Holly’s partner discovers him whit Flower, he raises the alarm call, but its already too late; Flower has mated and as it is successful she will be pregnant of Zaphod pups. Holly cant accept it that her daughter has mated whit a rover from the Vivian. But she don’t know of Flower is pregnant so Flower can stay for so long. A few weeks later Flower has gained a big bully, this is a sign that she is pregnant, Holly must evict her now but she don’t. Another females in the group are also pregnant. As Holly don’t do anything she will lose here position as dominant female. When Flower gives birth she don’t know of the danger her mother is for her pups and her. As Flower the next day going to check at her pups, their dead. But it was not Holly that killed the pups, it was Flowers niece that killed the pups to protect her own pups. Holly don’t need to evict Flower anymore now her pups are dead, for Holly it’s a miracle, but for Flower it’s a hell. When Flower is two she gives birth again, but not from Zaphod the Vivian rover, but Zaphods little brother Youssarian. This was the final blow for Holly, she must evict Flower. She attacked her and Flower runs of, evicted and confused….
After two months Flower finds a mob without a dominant female, she can take that position. When she runs into the group she makes a surprising discovery; the old Vivian rover is the dominant male, Flower takes over the group whit Youssarian, Zaphod hasn’t been seen after he has a affaire whit Flower one year ago. When Flower leads the group out for foraging she don’t know that there are pups in the burrow. No one is babysitting, a group named Lazuli is attacking the Whiskers burrow, Flower don’t know it otherwise she will go back to the burrow immediately. The Moonmins smelling the scent of the pups and go into the burrow. The dominant female kills one of the pups, the others fast follow their fate. As Flower goes back to the burrow she sees that something is wrong. She smells another group, she sees the dead pups laying on the dry desert ground. Flower leads the group to a new burrow for a fresh start. Youssarian goes to check of its safe.
He comes out and the rest of the group goes in to sleep. The next day they see a roving male, its Zaphod the older brother of Youssarian. As he can take over he and Flower will become dominant pares of the group. So he takes over and Youssarian is confused, after that he has coursing much trouble for the group. Flower has giving birth many times, the group that’s normally around twenty-five is now around fourteen. Flower haves many pups including Tosca, Daisy, Kinkajou, Shakespeare, Mozart, Pookie and De La Soul (Whoopi). At a calm morning Flower wants to go out foraging. Babysitters Daisy and Mozart must stay whit the pups. But Flower don’t know that a stranger will let himself into the group, his name is Carlos, Carlos is a successful rover whit many females as mate. He sneaks to nearby the burrow, the babysitters spotted him and scent marks the ground. Carlos scent marks the places whit his own mark and still sneaking to the burrow. Mozart decided to obtain mom and dad. One glimp of Zaphod and Flower will scare of this stranger. Carlos still walks to the burrow, there is no sign of what he wants to Flower and Zaphod may come very fast. As Flower and Zaphod finally comes back Carlos cant believe his eyes, a group of fourteen right for his nose! He makes a fast exit and the pups are protected from this stranger. The next day as the group go on foraging Carlos is again by the babysitters, this time he gets what he wants. Daisy is mating whit him. As she don’t look out she will be evicted for having pups. As she returns the whole group is in search of her, when they spotted her they smelling the scent of Carlos, the are curios about this stranger and sniffing at Daisy. Its late so Daisy stays without sentence. After a few months Daisy gives birth, but in the wrong burrow, she has giving birth in a bolt-hole. As the group goes to the main burrow they run across Daisy, some of them picking up her scent and take a look, as they see what has happened they go away and leave Daisy to her fate, as it where Flowers pups everyone will protect them, but Daisy is subordinate so they leave her and her pups alone. As the evening drops and the stars are shining the group is still awake, they are heading to the burrow of Daisy, but soon after entering they go away, the pups are to young to move them to the right burrow. Youssarian goes in, soon he comes out whit a pup in his mouth, he wants to burrow-move Daisy’s pups. Daisy comes out whit a pup too. Youssarian goes into the burrow and comes out, he’s waiting for Daisy to remove her other pups, but she don’t come back, Youssarian gives up and returns to his family. The day after Daisy is up as the first one, she runs to her pups that she has leave. But they hasn’t made it without there mom. Groupsleader Flower wants to see what happened. Daisy must care for her pups. Flower leads the group away and Daisy and Mozart stay to babysit. First the group is foraging like normal, but after hours and hours Daisy and Mozart become in panic, the group has to be home already. Flower and her group walks faster than first, and don’t foraging much. It looks like Flower wants to burrow move again, this is the solution for on-wanted pups. Daisy and Mozart leave the pups to their fate. When they catch up their family Daisy cant go back. The evening drops and Daisy has made her choice. The day after Mozart and Tosca are babysitting, but again Carlos approaches the burrow, this time he mates whit Tosca. A few days after mating whit Tosca, Carlos has mated whit Mozart. Weeks after both females give birth to both four pups. Whit eight pups in the burrow Flower must do something. When foraging Tosca picks up all her pups for the first lesson; running across open fields. But Flower comes in and attacking Tosca, Flowers pup Mitch is watching when Tosca is going to be evicted. Tosca runs of and stays away from the group. After that Mitch has stolen food from another pup, but that was not a good choice, he sick and must go to the burrow, Shakespeare sees Mitch and carry him to the burrow, the next day Mitch is healthy again. Not only Tosca will be punished, Mozart is also evicted and the two girl are now whit each other. After a few months Mozart is finally back into the group. When foraging, Flower and Zaphod losing view over the complete group; Flower, Zaphod and eight members of the group staying together, while the other thirty-two members heading further. The are at there favourite drinking place, the old water trough. A rival group named the Lazuli is running to the Whiskers, the Whiskers are totally surprised and run away, further and further away from Flower. Daisy takes over the lead, the Whiskers have a new queen, but who is gonna be the king?
Just when Youssarian sees his chance to be dominant again Tosca runs into the group and takes over the lead from Daisy. Tosca wears now the shiny collar of a leader. She leads the group to a burrow and goes to sleep. The next morning they see a familiar person, its Flower. Will the Whiskers choice Flower or Tosca? Tosca goes on attack and her group follows, if they can attack Flower they will win and eventually kill her. But when the groups reach each other they are grooming instead of attacking. Tosca was surprised seeing that her family choice Flower instead of her as leader. Flower wanted to finish of Tosca forever, but she escaped from her fate. After all that days Shakespeare was left to babysit on Flowers pups including; Columbus and Einstein. But when a good day begins, a bad day starts too. The Lazuli was heading to the Whiskers burrow to take over. Shakespeare was alone and had no chance but to protect the pups whit his own life. He lead the pups into the burrow. When Big Sy has digging out the burrow and goes in, Shakespeare has no chance, when Big Sy attacks, Shakespeare protect the pups by defending. When Flower and the rest go home, they see that the Lazuli are attacking the burrow, the Whiskers war danced and running to the enemy, when the Lazuli are running away, Flower goes check the burrow for a sign of life. But help came too late for Shakespeare, he is not in the burrow, and not whit the group, he is lost…(Maybe he’s roving?) But the pups have survived thanks to him, and the pups he saved like Mitch will take his place over.
In the winter Tosca the rebelling daughter is forgotten. She is missing, maybe she haves her own group whit a roving male, or maybe she hasn’t made it… (We will never know) But Flower has lead her group through all that. But when foraging the next day, the Whiskers decided to attack the burrow of a new group, called the Commando’s. But everything is going wrong; most of the Whiskers are chasing Youssarian, thinking he’s the enemy. Flower and her little group don’t see that the Commando’s are coming back. When they see its to late, Flower and her group are going into the burrow to defend, but the Commando’s are whit more than Flower is. The Whiskers are attacking hoping that they can hold the Commando’s out. But the fate is looking not good for Flower… At the burrow of the babysitters a strange approaches, but this time its not Carlos at all, its Mozart, When she’s in the burrow she’s accepted, not by Flower but her own pups. As Flower don’t made it she can become dominant. And it looks like Flower don’t go made it she needs a miracle, and she gets a miracle, in the form of her partner Zaphod. The Commando’s don’t see him, but what can he do on his own? But the Commando’s have forgot Mitch and his group, they safe Flower and then go back to the burrow. Mozart is accepted into the group by Flower and all the other members, she not dominant at all but she’s whit her family. When winter is ending Meerkat Manor meets a new group; the Zappa gang, and their dominants; Lola and Frank. Lola is dominant for three years, she’s bitten by a pufadder. As she joined the group again, her sister Punk sees a chance to be dominant, she takes the chance and attacking Lola, Punk makes a end of her three year leadership in just two minuts. Lola can stay in the group, but as subbordinant female. Its confusing if you have a new leader while the old is still in the group. Punk wants to have Lola’s mate Frank, but then Houdini jumps in and being groomed door half the group, as Frank will hold his position he must do something. He attacks Houdini but the young and fit Houdini can follow Franks dominant dance easily. Now Houdini is dominant and to make it clear to Frank he gives him a chase. Whit Punk and Houdini as dominants the Zappa group is stronger then ever. Flower is calm now, her four daughters are evicted and everything is going well. But for Mozart, Kinkajou, Shady and De La Soul it’s a hell, they are the four evicted, if they don’t find a male to start a new group they will die. But they find a male, the old rover named Carlos! Mozart wants to be dominant female of the new group the Starsky’s, but her sister Kinkajou also wants the top job… The defeated Mozart is now a subbordinant, and her pups are killed by Kinkajou. Flower and her group are foraging the feast of the desert, but Rocketdog and a few other members are walking further without seeing that Flower and the half of the group stay. Now Rocketdog has the lead over a thirteen strong family. Including new arrivals Ren and Stumpy. Stumpy is borned whit a deformed leg, so he needs all the help he can get to make it to an adult. But very soon they hear a alarm call, the group has seen a grasshawk, the whole group dives into a bolthole. But Ren and Stumpy are to slow to see the group, they don’t move from fear. The group cant see what is happening to the pups, but its not a happy ending…The social structure of the group is broken, and sadly Ren has to pay the prise…
Stumpy the weakest of the two has survived, he needs still al the help… The day after Rocketdog leads the group to forage again. When they go further they left Stumpy, he cry’s and cry’s but no one hears him.
As Rocketdog don’t left Stumpy, he will die too, so this is for Rocketdog the best way to die. But in the morning, they see a large group, it looks like the Commando gang, Rocketdog go in attack, the groups are so close that they can smell each other, and that’s exactly what they do, the group isn’t the Commando’s it are the missing Whiskers! But the happynis is fast over, because one leader has to give up the lead. But Rocketdog don’t want to be dominant. Flower is the only true leader of the Whiskers!
The Journeys end.
Flower and her group are foraging again, but now whit all the members of the group, and it looks like that Flower is pregnant again. But the Zappa are disturbing the peace by attacking. Flower and her group have won and the Zappa are retreating, Lola cant carry her young and drops it, Axle must save himself, he cry’s for his family but no one is coming to his rescue. Mitch hears the cry and go to the lonely pup, he takes him to Flower. Now the life of Axle lays in Flower’s paws.
She let him fall. Normally a group don’t adopt a pup of a rival group but Axle has a lucky day. When Flower continue foraging, they discover a snake. They already start mobbing and while they are thinking the enemy is gone, they don’t know that the snake is sneaking into the burrow of the Whiskers. Flower has gained a big bully so that means that she is pregnant again. When the group is by their burrow again, they discover that something is wrong. They smelled the snake. Desperate they start mobbing and spitting to the snake. Flower pushes herself to the burrow and entered……. But when she come out, the whole group is shocked; Flower has received a fatal bite to her head… For four years Flower was the Whiskers fatefull dominant, she was a great leader, and a noble mother. From humble begins she has created one of the most knightfull family’s on the manor. The Kalahari Desert has lost his favourite rose…
