I haven't been able to stop crying since I watched last night's episode. I've been watching Meerkat Manor from the beginning and never thought that we would lose Flower! I am so devastated by her loss and am scared for the future of the Whisker's family.

RIP beautiful Flower. You were a great Mother, hero and leader for the Whiskers and will never be forgotten.

What a wonderful series. I am a Senior person who just loves all animals and a new member of My Animal Planet. I cried and am still weeping for the lovely "Rose" of the desert.
Perhaps a new beginning with little Axel and Liz?
Then I worry about poor Zaphod and what will happen to him.Thank you for a wonderful sharing of Flower and her family.

What a shocking ending! Didn't expect to see the loss of Flower. I will miss her so much. She was a firm and sometimes cruel leader. Her last good deed of saving a rival's pup was very impressive to me--only to see her die so tragically. I feel like I lost my best friend, I am so sad over her loss.

We will remember your strong leadership, tenderness , and one of your many compassionate last acts to a rival group's pup... that is not common. it was almost like you knew your time left was limited.

May your genes provide a strong legacy to your prodigy for a 1,000 years.

You were one brave Meerkat.

I too have cried and am still in shock over the death of Flower. I happened upon "Meerkat Manor" late last summer and have become one of its biggest fans. Flower was on the screen at the time and I was so taken by her regal presence. She will be greatly missed - God Bless - RIP. kathy & family

With head slung low, shoulders dropped, and tears welling up in my eyes I watched Flower enter into harms way, she came out on the other side a winner but at a price she paid with her life. I will miss her because she was the one for me, has always been and will always be.

I too am saddened by Flower's death...she will be missed greatly. I'm still crying. It is nature dealing its deadly blow. I think we cry for Flower, but maybe we cry too because of all the horrific things we continue to witness (human and animal) in this world.

My heart is broken! Who would have thought a little meerkat could have such an effect?? I truely love the show. I will miss you Flower girl!

I am DEEPLY saddened by flowers death i have been dreading who was gonna die for the past two weeks and last night i cried and cried i couldn't beleive it was her.Thursday my 17 year old cat died and Friday i lose a little friend who i thought of as a foster pet who just happened to live in another place.I will cry for a long time over this and as others have stated i now fear for the future of all the other Whiskers without their leader.Who will take over, will Zaphod be evicted or die of a broken heart,who could ever ever measure up to Flower.She will be FOREVER missed!!!!! nikki from garden city minnesota

Flower's death was heartbreaking. She was a strong female who loved her family. She gave her life to save her pups. It was such a beautiful tribute to show the surviving pup coming out of the burrow. I want to thank the researchers and producers who have brought these adorable little creatures into our lives. If they have taught us anything, it is the importance of family and the value of life.

I can't believe that Flower is gone...she was a brave and formidable leader and a compassionate mother. The Meerkat Manor will not be the same without her..She will live on in our hearts and I'm sure she will be watching over her group to make sure they are continuing her legacy..we will miss you Flower..

I don't know if I can watch the show any more. There are too many little creatures that I fall in love with and then the brutality of nature takes them in an instant.

It was hard enough to lose Shakespere... Now Flower. Both will be sadly missed and always remembered. It has been like losing a family pet. Flower, in my opinion, deserves all of the attention she has recieved throughout the seasons. She really is one of the greatest in the Manor. Smart, Beautiful, Funny and full of Love and Life. She Truely deserved the title of "Queen of the Kalahari".

Flower was exceptionally intelligent, a wise and strong leader, the "iron lady" when she needed to be and tolerant and gentle when she could be. I didn't know how attached I was to our "Rose of the Desert" until last night when I watched her final, gallant effort to save her pups and her gang from the cobra. Now I feel almost as though I've lost one of my own animals. I kept hearing myself saying, "OH NO! Not FLOWER!"

Thanks to all who have made this long-term commitment and the herculean effort to study these fascinating creatures for ten years. Your photography is artful and intuitive. You have captured and preserved for the rest of us this personal, natural history
of meerkats that would have been otherwise impossible for people like me to enjoy.

I don't like feeling teary-eyed, but I'm glad to have known Flower.

Grieving is the only word I can use to say how I feel right now. Flower was such a formidable meerkat I never expected her to die. She showed such great instincts and good sense in raising her family. She was the "boss" and her family respected that. I worry for them now. Meerkat Manor will never be the same.

I loved Flower, and I am still amazed by her strengh and love for her family always.
