Newman....not yet ready...

I'm on the west coast, and thus haven't seen the episode yet. It'll be a little over two and a half hours before it start. And yet, as I read the description of the memorial forum, I felt a shiver, maybe because it was finally truly sinking in that our queen is gone.

I'm certain I'll start crying at the end. All I can do right now is take comfort in how any pain she felt at that moment is long gone, and that she's in a happy place now.

There's nothing else to say but...

Flower was more than amazing.
I'm going to miss her greatly ):

just one action changed the manor forever
but on things for sure she will be remembered forever........

I began crying when I saw her compassionately take the baby in. Her death tops her awesomeness to me. Huge shoes to fill, that is for certain. I miss her already.

I am devestated with the loss of Flower.
She was a true leader and loving mother. I was so upset to see such a beautiful meerkat in such a horrific state. Her poor little face. I can't stop crying..

Farewell, My Lovely!

Just too too sad...protecting her pups as always,even accepting little Axle...but I do thank AP for showing little pup Liz at the end...her momma's baby! I miss you Flower!

Oh my god I cried!!! Flower was the queen and I will miss her dearly

Our Rose of the Kalahari.. gone but not forgotten. Her legacy lives on thru her children, the newest being Liz. Flower is now a thriving, blooming Rose that will live forever in Gods Land; continuing to watch down over her family.

Lots of tears shed tonite; almost sobbing.. Flower was doing what ANY good Mother would do; protecting her family. God rest her soul. She will be missed deeply.

I can't believe she's gone, that's just horrible...I wonder who's going to take her place now and what's going to happen to the family....

This is heart breaking.

Tommorow, I will make a story called:

"A Night to Renember: September 28, 2007".

Flower,may you rest in peace.You died being a honorable meerkat and mother.

she proved what a wonderful and caring mother she was. How she cared for Axel who wasn't even her own pup was just amazing. It was devastating watching her die, and especially alone. I started crying when the episode began and I haven't stopped since. Eventhough she will always be remembered and honored by all, the manor and the whisker gang will never be the same again.

I was just so shocked tonight. I was so devastated to see Flower pass, such a strong and amazing leader. I know that her spirit will live on though. But I don't think the whiskers will ever be the same without her there. Flower's spirit will never be forgotten

I suspected Flower would be forever gone last week when Sean Astin said the desert would never be the same again. But, all this week I clung to hope that it would not be so. Our desert rose is indeed gone and I feel the loss so profoundly. I can't watch this anymore.

A better Mother than MOST HUMANS!!!!!R.I.P dear Flower.

My family and I watched and cried, it was like losing one of our own family members. Flower was a dedicated and ispirational mother. We will miss her and continue to watch as her children grow up and hopefully become as good a mother and a leader as she was.

I started crying when I saw the snake because I knew what was coming. I wish they wouldn't have shown her face. She looked soooo bad. I can't stop crying...

I cannot stop crying over the loss of FLOWER. What a great leader. I will miss her great strength, compassion, and courage. I cannot imagine MeerKat Manor without our FLOWER. I feel as if one of my own family members has died. We will all miss her deeply.

I'm still in tears. Flower was incredible even up till the end. Taking in Axle and defending her pups. How I cried when I saw her poor beautiful face. Rest in Peace Flower. I know I will miss you. Someone has some big shoes to fill.

It is with great sadness that I type this through my tears. Although we were prepared for this night back in February, the reality is still gut-wrenching.Flower was truly a remarkable and intelligent leader. Her last acts on Earth were ones of kindness and bravery. Her unselfish adoption of Axle shows that she knew that he was no threat to the Whiskers. This is a true mark of greatness. She was on the frontline charging into the burrow to help her pups-brave to the end.

Yes, our Flower is gone but what a legacy she has left. Many a human would do well to aspire to her level of intelligence, leadership, compassion, and bravery. I truly believe that Flower's legacy will reach far beyond the Kalahari. It has inspired our species to band together for the good of her species.

Please join with us tomorrow when we have a Great Meerkat Meet-up across our country as we dedicate the newly refurbished Staten Island Zoo Meerkat to the loving memory of Flower Whiskers, Queen of the Kalahari. Hail to the Queen! Hail to Flower!
