The lines and strophes are the same length than that of a German song made by Richard Tauberg, but without the music -I must say a little sad for I don’t know the name of that song-, it looses much of the dramatic effect in every line. Well, anyway here it goes...
Love Song From Zaphod (to Flower).
You were my Morning Sun... You were my Guiding Star... All through these years. Now you’ve become the sand, this very sand I feel, under my feet, and when I touch you somehow with both my hands, thinking I’ll find your heart (there...). Even the brightest days seem to me cold and dark, like starless nights.
Now time feels so long and so worthless, my life seems a Fall since you’re gone, the Sun may appear every morning but it looks as pale as the Moon, because in the air of the desert your spirit turns everything white, but still there’s your heart shining somewhere just like trembling shadows of light.
And little fires bring hope, right when the soul gets lost in loneliness... But it’s my hands who need to reach again your face, and trying so hard they just make holes in this sand, to get to you thru’ the night that’s below... My love! Then, when my heart get tired of looking for you in vain, we’ll join... At last!!!
That’s the lyrics without the strength of the music; but, however, I’ll try to find the name and then give you the link, so that you can hear it and know exactly what I'm talking about.
Well, I found it!!! Just to start, the author's name is Richard Tauber (no "G" in it) and the song is called "You mean the world to me" (Du bis die welt fur mich), from the album "The singing dream" (Der singende traum).
So if you could hear the song, or get that CD and listen to "You mean..." while reading the "Love song", you'd really know how Zaphod's "singing" to his beloved.
So did you hear that song? Because, let me say this, it's ONLY FOR YOU. You shouldn't miss Zaphod singing like R. T. with the lyrics that I posted... That's not my wish, anyway. On the contrary, I hope you can enjoy both things, completely and soon. Then if it happens that no one wants to do what says here, I'll give a sigh and simply keep sending posts. Besides, the post isn't really about me or R. T.; it's about Zaphod and our Flower.
Now I say to you all "See you soon", with many grooms.
