Thank goodness for this forum for all of us with broken hearts.
Flower is truly one of those who was loved by all - it still brings tears to my eyes to think of these words to a special song -
"Her candle burned out long before her legend ever will"
Flower, you are and will always be loved and never forgotten. Rest in peace knowing that we will all be watching over your family with you.
Thank you, Sean Astin, for your sensitive narration on reporting on the loss of the desert's favorite rose. The Kalahari will never be the same, but it will be better for Flower's having lived.
Yes indeed, watcher. Flower has had an impact on us all which won't be forgotten. She was truly an amazing soul which just happened to be in the tiny body of a meerkat.
Maybe it's because animals love unconditionally, without expecting much from us. They don't fill our ears with hatespeak, or complaints or unending tirades about money, things or prestige...they just love. Perhaps there are lessons to be learned from that.
WOW! These are some powerful words for a beautiul little Meerkat named Flower. watcher2007 I loved the part about FLower's soul.
Susybear: Well said. I never thought of that. We gossip and critize and we are worried about things that really should not matter. We worry about EVERYTHING and these little guys live to survive. They take such good care of each other. Such hard lives. Flower was not quite 7 years old, but she made quite an impact in her tenure on the manor...and on me too! Does put everything in perspective, doesn't it?
From what I have seen on these boards, Flower made quite an impact on a whole lot of people..and that's a really good thing. She reminds us that life is precious and you never know what will happen tomorrow. She lived her life to the fullest every day, doing her best to take care of the family and instill responsibility in them. That's a pretty tall order for a tiny meerkat!
