When I was a very young girl, our family dog died as a result of a faming accident. My older brothers and I were heartbroken and Gram explained to us that "Pooh" was going to heaven first to make sure that it would be safe for us when we join her there. Pooh watched over us and protected us when she was on earth, and of course Gram always told the truth!
The thought has occurred to me that maybe after 35 years Pooh still hasn't figured out how to get rid if millipedes, scopions and other creepy crawlies so Flower has gone to help her.
I know critters that have more than 4 legs have a purpose and are a big part of nature, but the thought of spending eternity with them leaves me less than trilled. I feel a lot better thinking that Flower is there and will protect me from them.
Interestingly enough, I've recommended a book to all who mourn the passing of a pet, or of a Meerkat on the other side of this animal planet. It's called Animals on the Other Side, by renowned psychic Sylvia Brown...
... who says (amoung many things of tremendous comfort) that for reasons unbeknownst to her, when she's "visited" the other side, she's noticed that despite all the different kinds of animals there, there are no insects!
I'm guessing there will still be plenty to eat for Meerkats, as it will be a place of perfection (especially as there are Meerkats there!), but at least you (and I!) may not need to deal with the creepy crawlies! Whew!!
Flower wouldn't want us to be scared anyway.
all the best ~ My niece knows me as Auntie Meerkat (aka: Diane, in Massachusetts, USA)
I'm relieved to know there are not insects(6 legs) on the other side, but spiders and scorpions(8 legs) and other critters are just as bad, so I hope the psychic included them among the missing. If only cute furry animals go to heaven, obviously it is paradise!
