I have been experiencing severe fatigue in my early teens, all I want to do is sleep! I began having stomach pain in August 2007. I don't have a good appetite, and have lost 60 unintential pounds since I started seeing the doctors. I went to see a regular physician who ran lost of different blood tests, ultrasounds, exc. When she no longer could provide care for me she referred me to a Gastorinerologist doctor. This doctor tested me for Irritable Bowel Disease, Chron's Disease, pretty much everything and all the tests are showing up normal. I went through tons of tests with that doctor and nothing was showing up. I have had ultrasounds, upper and lower scope tests done, sm bowel follow-through test, a capsule endoscopy test twice, in which both times the capsule DID NOT follow through my system and they don't know why, then my next test was a feeding tube down my nose into my stomach and that test didn't work all the way either, the tube wasn't going through my digestive system somewhere all the way. I have had every kind of test done that they can do for me. I am being referred again to another Gastrointerologist doctor, and am waiting for that appointment. The last few months my pain in my stomach is getting so much worse, Im scared something is really wrong and am puzzled as what to do. I don't hardly eat anymore- i don't have an appetite, and get full very fast when I do eat. I have tried lots of different medicines and none of them work. If anyone can relate with simular experiences, or any comments PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

My son is going through the same symptoms but he has diarrhea all the time too, he has not had the scopes yet but I am demanding them to get done to see if anything shows up. He don't look healthy at all. they have ran blood test that are all normal or so they say most of the time I have actually gotten copies of medical records to find out there were a few abnormal test but then retest they were fine as far as I know. I am sorry to here this we are looking for answers for him too. Have they did a manomatory test on you? Which shows if there is abnormalities in the muscles to your esophagus? I had that and they did not find it till they did that test. It is very stressful when your the one going through it and nobody is finding anything, or they don't listen to you. Keep pushing until they can figure it out that is not healthy. Please let us know how things are going k. My main email is sacoracasselman@yahoo.com. Good LUCK!!!!

I currently have a family member that went through a similar situation..However, her's was soo sever that she couldnt eat..Lost over 100 lbs...bled through vomit etc.etc.. I would suggest everyone to get checked for H pylori bacteria...Sometimes it could be a bacteria in your stomach causing you so much sickness.. Also..If you find that you eat and/or drink diet products w/ nutrasweet etc...Stop them immediately. As eating/drinking them can cause excruciating pain, nausea and vomiting in some people. Get checked for GERD Acid Reflux..Usually that also can cause similar pains... Depending on where your pain is...Gallbladder, pancreas should be checked as well... Get blood work and don't take No for an answer..Keep going to different doctors until you find one that's really gonna look deeply into your situation. Because we all know when something different is taking place with us. Remember, Pain and symptoms tell us when something is wrong.. Hope this helps.. Take Care YBWC

To Unknown 8: I don't know if this will help you, but I'll tell you my experience. I'm quite a bit older than you, but I too had severe stomach pain. Over several years, I had every test, many of them 2 or 3 times. They found nothing. Scopes from both ends. Still nothing. Every few months there would be sudden abdominal pain and vomiting, a trip to the emergency room, where I would be admitted for 4 days to a week. Tests were run, found nothing. During that time I was NPO (nothing by mouth) and receiving IV fluids and pain med, and everything would calm down and they would release me.
During yet another trip to the emergency room with severe vomiting and pain, I had yet another CT scan, and finally someone noticed "thickening of the walls of the small bowel." Upon releasing me, it was suggested that I follow up with a gastroenterologist AND a surgeon.
The surgeon ordered yet another small bowel follow through, and again saw this "thickening of the walls of the small bowel". He told me it warranted him going in to take a look - laproscopically - with instruments and small incisions.
I agreed because this had been going on for years and I was really getting worried, plus afraid of losing my job.
Once the surgeon got in to look around the small intestine, he had to switch from laproscopic to traditional surgery because my intestine looked pretty bad - in a way that did not show up on any of the scans or scopes.
He removed several sections of the small intestine, and then sewed back together what remained. He sent the removed intestine to the lab, and FINALLY a diagnosis! Despite all the negative results from all the other tests, the lab said it was CROHN's disease! It was in a part of the intestine that could not be reached by the scopes from either end so one doctor after another had told me they could find nothing.
The gastroenteroligist I had seen for 2 years was stunned. The look on his face was priceless.
My point of all this is that these diagnoses are tricky and I want you to keep asking questions and if one doctor cannot help, go on to the next.
For all of you with these symptoms, it may be helpful to ask your physician to refer you to a surgeon, and then go see one. Take your test results and your histories and have faith.
My diagnosis was not the end of my trouble, and I've had 2 surgeries in the last 6 months, as well as 4 hospitalizations, but now I am on Remicade infusions and I feel better than I can recall.
I'll pray for you all and wish you the best!

My 25 yr old son went through 4 years of nausea, abdominal pain, Fatigue he dropped 50 lbs, they sent him to many stomach specialist and he went through all the tests they were all normal. after about 4 year he started falling and having issues walking, they finally sent him to a neuorlogist and he was diagosed with a disease called Adrenomyeloneuropathy, His adreal glands were not working at all. This is a very rare disease but if you are having sickness and weight loss make sure they check to see if your adrenal glands are working!

I have celiac sprue, a condition often undiagnosed. It took me 14 years to be diagnosed. I have allergies, hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia, nausea, weight loss, and intermittent diarrhea. All of these were caused by my allergy to gluten, a substance found in wheat, oats, barley and rye grains, and in anything made from them. To be diagnosed, all you need is a celiac panel blood test, but the right lab has to do it, because few do it right. By the time I was correctly diagnosed, my levels were so high that any lab would have found it. I was always skinny, no matter what I ate. I drank a lot of beer but would get severely hung over, no matter how much I drank. I finally quit drinking entirely when I would get "hung over"-headaches, vomiting, and diarrhea-after only one beer. I had surgery on my intestine for an auto accident and then things got really interesting. I would get severe headaches, be tired all the time, had hair loss, and would get occasional diarrhea or constipation. I attributed the intestinal problems to my surgery, and so did the doctor. Then I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism; then hypoglycemia; then asthma and allergies. I thought I was falling apart. Finally, I tried to donate blood, and they said I was too anemic-and I was never anemic a day in my life! I also got the flu and it went to pneumonia; my immune system was comprimised, but I didn't know it. I finally got eczema, and I read an article in the paper from a woman with all my symptoms! She was a celiac, and that's what I have too. It can cause rheumatoid arthritis, neurological problems (including ADD/ADHD, schizophrenia, and symptoms that look like dementia or early Alzheimers). People with lupus, anemia, Down's syndrome, infertility, migraines, fibrmylagia, Chrohn's, and IBS should all be tested for this-it can cause all these (except true Crohn's-it is often misdiagnosed as Crohn's) and MS too. It can strip the mylenation on nerves, and it can present without symptoms. Gastric reflux is also a symptom. It is commmon in people with Italian, Irish, and eastern European ancestry, but can occur in any ethnicity, including blacks. Please check out celiac disease, especially if you have gastric problems. It could save your life!

Hello my name is Hillary i am 16. Right before Thanksgiving this year i was starting to feel sick, sweats and chills, headaches, tiredness, eventually severe stomach pain. I went to see my doctor he had me take a few blood tests and they said my white count was a little elivated so he had me go on antibiotics. Nothing changed. a efw days before the antibiotics I was told to go on clear liquids. so while and after i was on antibiotics i was only allowed to have clear liquids. This is not because i had no appitite i was always hungery and with no nausa.
He referd me to a surgen who took my blood tests, ultrasounds and other tests. All came back normal. Then i had a CT that said i had inflamation in the CCom i don't know what that is. Then i had a colonoskipy on Dec 31.
Since then i have had more blood tests a barum swallow and verious others. Those orderd by a gastrointeroligist.
I then went to a Natropath who orederd a parasite test and a allergie test. While waiting on the test results took 3 weeks. I was told to take Hydrocloric acid, Vitiaum D, Dygestive enzymes, Probiotics, and SOme sort of Power that is the food for the small intestions. I was getting severly nausues all the time, and always felt like i was going to throw up. When the results were back they said that i am highly allergic to Eggs, Garlic, Wheat, Dairy, Soy, Spelt, Goat, Oysters. Non make sense since i eat the normal stuff all the time. so i am right now stopping those foods for right now. This is all in the last week. I then had the worst attack thus far on sunday. my parents almost took me to the er except we knew they wouldn't be able to do anything for me. The parasite test came back as well saying i had some sort of bacteria called Hafnia alvei. a rare thing but they don't know how i could have got it what it does or how to get rid of it. SO i am really screwed.
I am still nausus but a little less since i stopped all those supplements but i still have really bad stomach pains and acid refelx all the time. I NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG.
I have missed two full months of school going on three. and the pain and not knowing is killing me.
They seem to keep going back to the thought that i might have crohns because my dad has it but it isn't visible.
The wierd thing is that two other girls at my school have the same type symptoms one just got diognosed with Crohn's and two the year before as well. So myself and the other girl are still waiting and suffering. I know you all are too. I hope we can all figure out what is wrong.
if you get any clues please e-mail me actingisthyn@gmail.com
Also they are saying i should have a endoskipy with the pill one. Which one is more effective. the pill or the normal kind?

hi, im almost 31 and have very similar issues myself. im not sure if your mother has had all of the test done already or not, but i just thought that i would mention them to you. maybe it will bring you better luck than me. i have had a gastric emptying test that requires eating a nuclear egg. upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, barium bowel testing, stomach exrays, pelvic exrays, thyroid testing and hormone blood work. there is one test i took and just haven't followed up on yet. some studies have shown that hormones can contribute to most of these symptoms, but blood testing is limited. i saw a doctor who specializes in hormone therapy who had me take a saliva hormone test that was more informative sice our body produces different hormones throughout day to day. his name is dr. melograna in annapolis md. look him up on yellow pages on line. women come from all over to see him and have great results he is v ery renouned. i hope some of this is helpful to you. i know how hopeless you both must feel. make sure too that she doesnt need any antidepresents or any antianxiety medicines as wekll. you would be surprised how many differeny people with similar symptoms have been cured withb vthese. unfortunately it didnt help me completely, but certainly gave me some relief. such as the fatigue. it was really bad. i'm a mother of 3 and i couldnt even keep my eye open long enough to help them my husband missed alot of work and my family was really scared. seraquel was my miracle drug for fatigue. so dont cut out the psychiatrists yet. it doesnt mean your mom is crazy, or it is all in her head, but they can help restore some hormone inbalances that can cause fatigue.

I have been having similar symptoms, I have constant and severe stomach pain and nausea. Over the past three months I have been tested for gluten, wheat, and lactose allergies. My pancreas, liver, and kidneys have been checked for anything irregular. I have also had an endoscopy and no biopsies taken because they saw nothing wrong with my stomach or the beginning of my small intestine, only inflammation of my esophagus. Which has probably just been irritated because I wake up almost every morning throwing up. Food doesn't even taste good anymore, I feel like I have to eat almost constantly just to feel even a little better. My stomach hurts so much all the time and I feel nauseous all the time. No matter how much I consume I never feel full and I never gain weight. I just want to know what is wrong with me, I feel sick all the time and doctor's can't find anything wrong with me and when it gets really bad I can't even go into the ER because the past two times I've been in there they've told me there is nothing they can do for me except give me IV fluids. I have a constant hungry pain in my stomach but I feel like I am going to throw up every time I eat, but I feel like I am going to die if I don't eat. I just someone to help me, I am 19 years old I shouldn't be in this much pain all the time. I was diagnosed with endometriosis about 5 years ago. Endometriosis is a genetic disease that affects women. It means that I have the lining of my uterus in place other than the inside of uterus so every time I have my period I have internal bleeding which causes my severe abdominal pain. I used to think I was unlucky to be in severe pain for a week out of every month, but I really had no idea what I was in for. The stomach pain that I have now is a different type of pain and in a different place then the pain that I feel during my period. And now I'm not just in pain for a week out of a month, I'm in pain all the time and I don't know what to do anymore. I am scheduled for an ultrasound in a week, and my last guess at what is wrong with my is that I have scar tissue from the years of internal bleeding, but if the ultrasound next week shows that everything is normal, just like every other test I've taken then I am going to be completely out of guesses. I don't know what to do anymore, but I can't live like this. If you have any guess, information, or know anyone that can help me please e-mail me at maria00232@yahoo.com

I have a sixteen year old daughter suffering with the same symptoms of the other young girls. It started a year ago, I believe after her first Gaurdisil shot. Her symptoms intensified after her second shot in May. I mentioned it to the doctors on both occasions but they assured me everything was ok. She has started all the tests you all have already been through. She will not be getting the third and final shot and I pray to God she heal from whatever is ailing her. I don't now if this helps any of you, you will all be in my prayers.

I have the exact same problem and endured many of the same tests. It was horrible for about 6 months of doctor visits until I just started eating healthier and drinking water. I lost 30 lbs in a month and being a small person I didn't have any more fat stored to loose and started loosing muscle. I stay dehydrated if I don't constantly sip water throughout the day. Any way as far as eating healthy I just mean whatever you can hold down. For me anything remotely acidic or spicy will cause me pain. so no caffeine, alcohol, citric juices orange grapefruit ect, chili, pepper, there is a huge list of things in my head but maybe this could help. I had no scarring or ulcer signs and the doc was dumbfounded. I just started eating better and although I haven't gained any weight back I can maintain the weight I have. If I do gain any It takes about 7 months to gain 3 lbs. Then I will just work it off in a day or two helping a family member do some physical work so it sucks.
Good luck and I hope my rambling helps you in any way
