My name is Alicia and I am 22 years old. About a year and a half ago I started to have pain during intercourse with my husband. It would happen like 20 minutes into sex and feel like my vaginal wall would swell up and it was raw. I didn't think nothing of it at the time. Then it started to get worse. It started to happen in shorter amounts of time. Then it got to the point were as soon as we started to have sex it would hurt like hell. I got kind of worried at that point so I went to a clinic. Some good that did. They just told me it was me and that nothing was wrong.

I made another appointment with a OBGYN. While waiting on my appointment to come I noticed that my sweating problem was getting worse. I was sweating under my arms and back more, and having hot flashes. I also noticed that I was having mood swings a lot and had become very fatigue all the time.

When my appointment came a long she told me that she thought I had Endometiosis, because I was having cramps and sever breast pain with my periods. So, I trusted her and ended up having a Laparoscopy. After the surgery she told me that everything looked great. Nothing was wrong. I was happy I didn't have that, but I just spent all this money and i still don't know whats wrong with me. So she told me that I needed to go see a GI doctor cause I had irregular bowel movements.

So I made an appointment to go see a GI. When I seen her she told me that it sounded like I was healthy and just needed fiber. She told me that she would run blood work to see if my hormones were in balance. After two wees my results came in and they told me everything was fine. Everything was normal.

At that point I finally broke down. I am 22 years old, I haven't been able to have sex with my husband for over a year now, and I am having hot flashes from hell, sweating like crazy, so tired that I have to take naps in the middle of the day so I don't fall asleep while I am driving, but can't sleep at night, and they tell me that everything is normal?
If anyone has been through this or has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. I have a appointment to see another OBGYN in 3 more months, but I feel like I am going crazy.

Alicia

Please go see a different OB/GYN! I have Lichen Sclerosis which is a thinning of the skin (causing it to rip & tear very easily). It too is extremely painful to have sex. My boyfriend has tried to be understanding but after a while it gets old. LS is thought to be caused by a hormone imbalance). I'm not saying what you have is LS, but there is definately a hormonal issue happening. Perhaps you should see an endocrinologist who can check your hormone balance. But I would definately get a new OB/GYN - fast. This is not something that should be brushed off. Good luck!

Alicia- Sorry to hear about all your problems. You might want to do some research in to whether all your symptoms could be "yeast-connected". There is a good book by William G Crook, M.D. titled "The Yeast Connection and Women's Health" that you should read. The book is a good place to start, there is a lot more information out there, but "NOT" often mentioned by your regular M.D. I would also suggest taking a good daily probiotic capsule. You can normally see immediate results with any G.I. tract problems. I am over twice your age and for many years I too suffered with numerous strange symptoms. Going from doctor to doctor and getting no answers.

Many years and a lot of research later, I am happy to say that a great majority of my health issues were yeast-related and now easily kept under control. Whether you find your symptoms are related to yeast or not, keep looking until you find a medical professional that will really listen to you. That's the biggest battle. Good Luck!

you need a tsh level and a CT of the head or MRI to rule out a pituitary adenoma. also get an ESR or sed rate, LH and FSH level.

I'd go to a nutritionist. Gyn problems can be caused by lack of magnesium. (I haven't researched your symptoms yet.)
