He was really good, I was actually quite happy. He was champion in baby greens. He's 2 years off the track, first year he just chilled out in the pasture.
You need to ride more off your legs, rather than your hands. In most of the pictures you're pinching with your knee causing your calf to not even be on your horse. Your power comes from your legs, not your hands. So, if you sit up, stop balancing off your hands, and keep your leg in your horse's side, he'll step up and workhim through his back and lift his rib cage.
The way he is, and the way he's built, he doesn't take much leg at all. The reason my hands are like that is to get him off his front and, and to encourage him to use his hind end more. I have a very soft, responsive hand-so don't worry! When we do dressage, I often use the 'push with your leg, catch with your hand' type of riding.
