He doesn't seem to understand that it takes less effort to tuck his knees than it does to jump higher with hanging knees.

you guys look just fine! what a cutie! just a suggetion, try shortening your stirrups a hole or 2 for jumping and then lengthen them back for the hack (just practice at home first cuse its a weird feeling til you get used to it you don't want to try it out at a show!) lower your hands, try pressing them into his neck just below his braids, and STAY BACK on your pony!! i guarentee if you jump at home without stirrups, (take them completely off your saddle) you will not jump ahead! wait for him to jump. take a look at some of the other riders in those photos some of them are frightening! if those ponies were to stumble, chip or stop they would fall off! god help me i'm sounding like george yelling at his students! sorry! you are a lovely pair!! enjoy the ponies cause youll miss them once you outgrow them!
