This year i thought it would be awesome to take my horse to HITS culpeper. My mom said that she and my trainer might consider it if we can figure out a plan (how much it would cost, when we would go and leave, etc). Sooo I have tried to calculate how much it would be for 1 horse/rider, including stall rental, entry fee, hotel, etc and.... $800 dollars?!?!
so am i even close to how much it would cost? For someone who is a regular A shower, how much does it usually cost for you?
That seems very low to me. But I guess it depends on how close you are (don't forget to add in shipping costs) and how many classes/divisions you are doing. I just got back from showing at Saratoga for the past few days with two horses, and my entries alone were over $900 (keep in mind that this is 2 horses), plus you have to add in costs for shipping, coaching, braiding, hotel, food, etc.
that is what i feared I live in southeastern VA, so i figured I could drive up there at the crack of dawn the first day of showing and stay just 2-3 nights. And when i did the math i included pretty much everything except food, which came out to that price... that was just going to be for 2 hunter divisions and an eq class. But idk, i will be getting a job this summer sooo maybe if i save it up and count my pennies it still might work.
i dont go to culper but i did a del mar show recently and including classes and shipping and board and hotel it cost arount 2000 but idk where culpler is but it was a great experience and the horses loved it and this was only 60 miles from my barn... soo it was quite expensive =[ hope everything goes well =]]]]
Thanks Culpeper is in central northern Virginia I think, and I have heard that Culpeper is amazing, which is why I want to go so bad! I think if I end up not being able to afford it, I will just go with my friends and watch- I did that at WIHS and it was SO cool! Deffinatly worth going, competing or not
one thing about Culpeper, the last time i was there, they over watered the rings, so that it was impossible to comeout without a pinky-grey crust on your boots and your horse's legs.
mine was the same as rockmysocks i paided 400 total with 2 nights and 3 days of showing and hotel with stalls and bedding w/classes & trailer includedand and i live 100 miles away too and i also agree with the footing it was definatly over watered and so most people didn't even bother cleaning there horse after showing because theyed get so muddy
hmm im sry but i dont know wat the actuall price would be howecer i know it would probably be expensive if u add up hotel, trailering, fees ect. if u do end up going, it is quite expensive like alot of shows that big (depending if the one ur going to is big) so make sure to give ur mom a big thank you!
