Soooooo i know there was a post that kinda talked about this b4 w/nikko but what do you all think about all the drinking and smoking that goes on? Not so much with Brianne/Sloane but I've seen pix of Chelsea, the Lubrano girls, Brianne's little sis Clem, and a bunch of other top junior riders smoking and drinking. Does this make you lose respect for them or do you guys think its okay? Also, a bunch of them are pretty young...

Okay just so you know.. this must be the 99923097348372th post about this. Can someone just find the old one so we can stop repeating things, sorry it's just like everyone has said something like this at one point.

But to answer your question...

I think whatever goes on outside the ring is thier business. It's not like them being teenagers, can't have a life outside of horseback riding.

I get your frustration that this topic keeps coming up, but so many people on here keep saying "no one posts" "no one goes on here" "start new topics" but when someone new (judging by the 2 posts horseshow has) comes on, you all just scare them away!!!

Horseshow: I think that these girls are "normal"in this regard-some will experiment with/do drugs like anyone else.

sorry, to clarify, I don't mean who cares in the "old topic" sense, but in what the other riders do with their lives. It's theirs to live not ours, so why concern ourselves with what they do outside the ring. It's obviously not affecting their performances, so shrug your shoulders and move on.......

Just because they're big named riders doesn't mean they aren't normal teenagers.


The majority of teens go to parties where, yes, there's normally SOME amount of alcohol and/or drugs.

some little girls who dream of becoming that big might look up to them...seeing them smoke...they might somke/dink/do drugs/ect ect ect blah blah blah

Its thier life and people shouldn't b gettin in other peoples buisness. That is rude. My opinion. Yea it might b dissapionting to other people but definately not me.

Come on guys, give horseshow022 a break!! And honestly, i think alcohol and drugs are a topic that us teen dont talk enough about- if people who used them new more information, they wouldnt be putting their health at risk!

And i dont consider a "normal" teen to be one that smokes and drinks. A lot of us dont. I think that assumption gives us teens a bad reputation- and you wonder why parents dont give you more freedom!!

As for the riders, i would say its their business.... if it werent for the fact that they post pictures of themselves doing that stuff all over MYSPACE! You cant say something is your personal business and be posting it up all over the internet at the same time, its totally contradicting yourself. If they really cared about people like us knowing, then they wouldnt do that. End of story.


So yes, i as well have seen pictures of Nikko, chelsea, and clementine drinking and smoking, which i have to roll my eyes at, just as i do to anyone else underage who does it.

and let me point one last thing out... Brianne and Sloane PROBABLY (not surely!) dont do those things. They striked me as more responsible than that. And guess what... THEY ARE THE BEST TWO JUNIOR RIDERS WE HAVE SEEN IN AT LEAST A DECADE!

Not to make anyone mad but doing drugs and stuff like that is not really smart. I agree that we should stay out of their lives and all but if they want to make it as Olympic riders they can't do drugs and stuff. And I do loose my respect for them. Some drugs can kill you from your first try and drinking you can become addicted and then you can hurt the people around you and your horse. And your family and horses don't deserve that and neither do you.
Just my opinion. And we are the friendlyest of people aren't we!!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!!

^ OMG ur so right!!! if those people even want to got to that level....take care of ur body for crying out load!!! sheesh. if they like faint during the olymic games...cause of all tthe drugs in them i will either be laughing cause i knew it would happen or shun them

I am in complete agreement with Ca2roline. Once you start posting pictures of these activities on myspace or facebook, it kind of makes you exempt from the whole "no one's business" theory. I also do agree that Brianne and Sloane are incredible riders, and that there is a definite lack of evidence when it comes to the drug/alcohol question. Underage drug abuse, whether it is normal or not normal, is really not a topic to be swept under the rug.

barnbum before the Olympics you get tested for drugs and so does your horse. But if you do get past it you would faint or OD or w/e ever hapens cuz I don't know. And I agree that the personel life thing should be shut out if they post it.This is one of our more interesting topics also I agree with ca2roline617 normal teens don't do that stuff for that matter most normal adults don't do drugs, but on the other side most teens do try that stuff. So it could go either way. And also the reason you get tested for drugs is beacause it apparently inhanseses you in some way that I don't know of.

Okay I am confused. So on animal planet they show them drinking/drugs/smoking ect. If they do you would think they wouldn't because every famous teen is suposed to be a role model for younger people. But thats just me.sry

Normal teens don't drink of do drugs. Sure people experiment with drugs and alcohol, but some people don't like the experiment and quit. Personally, I have never tried drugs or alcohol and I am proud of it. Some of my friends do drink, but they respect my decision and NEVER pressure me to do anything like that. It's their decision to whether or not do drugs or drink alcohol and they should keep it personal.
