I haven't really had any bad accidents. Once I fell of a horse that spooked in the arena and I landed right on my butt. I was out of breath but okay. And one time my horse freaked out when he was tied and he reared and pulled back and I tried to untie him so he wouldn't break the post off the tack room. It was a support post, there were tie rings on each post. Anyway, he freaked and broke the ring and almost fell over backwards.
Plenty 1st: Galloping in the jump off at a show, I asked my horse to take a deep distance, he resisted, left a stride early, landed in the middle of the fence, flipped, landed half on me.
2nd: Cantering a green horse, turned a corned, horse falls over sideways ontop of me, once again.
3rd: galloping full out on the track, i put my hands to far up his neck and throw away my reins, horse goes crazy, starts bucking, i fall off, tear off a ligament and pull off a peice of bone along with it.
that's quite scary. I have been riding for 12 years and I have never really had a bad accident. There was one time where my horse ran under a tree and I got stuck in the branches. She carried on and I slid off backwards onto my head. Nothing serious though.
I've been lucky enough not to break any bones But I have had some interesting falls xD
I was riding my old pony and we were cantering, she spooked on something and bucked, I fell and managed to slide in between to fence boards and landed on the other side. But I didn't go over it, just in between xP
And then I've broken two fence boards, one with my back and the other with my arm lmao. Those stories aren't all that exciting, though, I wasn't a very good rider at the time xD
this happened just last week... I was riding a horse without stirrups and cantering around when the horse broke on the straightaway... I tried to pick up the canter again and missed the lead... so as i was trying to slow her down i loosend up and lost my balance and fell over in front of her. She completley trampled me, i felt her hit my legs, my back, i even found a tear on my helmet from where she clipped me there too. The worst was that she scraped and stepped on my arm, i thought it was broken but thankfully it wasnt.
I dont blame the horse though, she couldnt avoid me as i basically laid down in her path...lol
ive had many bad riding accidents wow to many to type lol!
this one prolly isnt the worst but its the most painful. at a show this summer i was doin a 3' jumper course and over the oxer i fell and landed on my arm nothin broken but some serious tendon damege im still dealing with it. but when i landed i was under neath my horse and he landed and stoped dead it was awsome because i would have been run over if he didnt do that for me
yeah, its amazing how a horse will realize how much danger youre in and do everything to not hurt you When I fell off my horse in the jump off it could have been alot worse but he somehow twisted himself do that he really only fell on my leg, not my entire body. It was so weird because i was about to go RIGHT under him. then he got right up and stood next to me with his head down next to me.
I once asked a friends horse for a long spot before an oxer. He took it with a huge buck and threw me over his left shoulder, I hit the dirt and he landed after the fence on my hand. I heard the snap of the bone. Apparently I went sheet white and vomited from being in shock but I don't really remember much just getting my arm in a cast for 5 weeks and stitches on two of my fingers.
Then one time while walking a novice cross country course I thought it would be funny to jump the Trekaner and ended up slipping on a wet log and blowing my Achilles Tendon and when we unzipped my boots you could see that the tendon wasn't attached anymore...
im 13 and have been riding for 7 almost 8 years and ive had MANY lol *thinks*
there was this one when i was 11 i was working with a green horse and it was his first time jumping 2'6 at a show and i forget waht happened i was out for a bit but i guess the disctance was wack and it caused him to trip and fall down to the ground on me. ouch. i hurt my back, brused my lung and did something to my ribs but it hurt like heak lol
i would def. tell u more about that accident but i seriously dont remeber waht happened
i have also had many bad falls i use to work with my trainers horse when iwas done with my horse and he wasnt that great of a jumper so that is wat i had been working with him on and so we were jumping bunce jumps and my friend was cantering down the longside with her horse and the horse i was riding wanted 2 beat them to the end of the ring and being a thoroughbred he becited 2 jump the bounce as an oxer and i fell being flung at my friends horse and scared him she was being flung ant me and we hit each other in the air and both landed on the jump in was painful but luckaly neater ne of us were heart but her horse was scared of dnavan after that and then as they started 2 become friends and 2 days befor i was suposed 2 show him he died of colic
well funny as i read this last night thinking how i havnet fallen off in a whie and i havent had any bad falls. well lucky me! today went to try out some horses the one i tried BUCKED ME OFF. & what happened is he bucked me off i fell and then he landed on me. I broke 3 ribs, concussion, and my left arm ]= im not gonna ride for a while. so that just about SUCKS.
well, i am 14, and i've been riding since i was 7. and surprisingly (and luckly) i have never fallen off, which just makes me scared for the first being the worst..but anyways.....My worst horse accident was the first week i ever rode a horse. it was at a summer camp, and i was riding this horse named Zona. soo basically all of the other horses didn't like her, and five minutes into the lesson, this big TB named Shadow tried to bite her, yeahh well he missed. so Shadow took a good chomp out of my knee, and i was just in so much shock that it took me a minute to notice that my knee was torn open and bleeding. so yeah stitches, and crutches for a month. despite that this was my third time ever riding, i kept with it, and haven't had any injuries since....oh dear
oh man you shouldn't have said that! if you ride you will fall off!! just don't let the fear that it can happen interfere with your riding! my horse and i parted ways last summer in vermont it was an approach to the triple combination in a level 3 class and i couldnt see a distance to save my life so we galloped down i floated the reins and said please jump! she bobbled over the first fine, no impulsion to the second and by the third, a 3'6" wide oxer said uhh i don't think so and she went right and i went left! landed on my pride with the whole world watching (it always seems!) though not my worst launching by any stretch.. the most recent in a longgg novel of trips falls and se ya laters! on another note, not me but recently at a joe fargis clinic he had us jump a progressive gymnastic which he kept adding to, this poor girl, her horse wanted no part of a skinny wall with no standards and pitched her hard in the dirt we were all like omg that s@'s she got back on but the horse was like no way!! and he had her canter back and forth over a wall while the rest of us jumped the gymnastics.. not bad enough to fall off in a lesson or clinic but an olympian you are paying a small fortune to ride in front of..$450 bucks makes it hurt worse!
