hey. so i ride at a barn in wellington but ive been volunteering at another barn who runs a riding camp for abused kids. the people who work this barn are all really great riders, especially the dressage trainer(she was a junior olympic bronze medalist). the hunter/jumper trainer is quite good as well. i really love my trainer in wellington so im going to stay with her as i try to do the medal finals but wat do u think about cross training with the dressage trainer at the other barn? do u think doing some dressage will screw things up for me. i belive cross training will be a good thing but im not sure. wat are your opinions? Thanks! Smile

dressage is SO beneficial for both horse and rider.

when i moved to ohio i did nothing but dressage with my gelding [and eventually my new horse] for 6 months and have just started over fences again. it's improved how i ride and how i communicate with my horse SO much, i wouldn't trade those six months for anything!

Agreed, for a long time I trained at a barn that focused on centered riding and balanced seat, then when I moved to NH and back into the hunter/jumper world I had a large number of people complementing my position, contact, and ability to move with my horse. There is nothing more beneficial for your riding than flatwork and dressage!
