Hey there I am looking for a new saddle.I've got some ideas but thought I should broden my horizons.I was just wondering what everybody else would suggest. It needs to be a jumping saddle and the prices shouldn't be to high.

I don't know what you consider high...

But I lovelovelove my Beval Butet, it's faaaabulous.

I'm also getting ready to have my horse fitted for a Schleese, they're custom so they fit your horse perfectly.

Any of the French brands really...Amerigos are nice and aren't too expensive. The Antares Hampton Classic is nice. Childerics...ummm...yeah. Any of the French brands.

No Pessoas unless you get on that's 10+ years old, the new one SO aren't worth the money, very poor quality.

Lol, when I find a saddle worth that much I'll let you know.

Since price doesn't really seem to be a problem, I really, really suggest the Butet, I think they retail now for about 3800.

Although the Schleese are suuuper nice too since they're custom fit to you and your horse and they have such good packages to buy so that if you grow, your horse grows, or you get a new horse they'll either adjust you saddle for you or send you a new one and buy your old one back to resell and you pay the difference.

I think my Scheelse was...4300? 4200? Something around there after buying the package and such that I wanted.

Good luck saddle shopping!

What do you think of them?
I hear mixed reviews. My Butet doesnt fit my warmblood anymore so I need a new one
And also, how much did it cost?

Had to hop in here to add PJ saddles. Luc Childeric as well.

And for a cheaper saddle [I think it's around 2500] the Antares Hampton Classic.

I'm also looking for a new saddle. I took an older Beval on trial (which was excellent, but they run a little narrow. I'm also looking at an older Passier. I always buy used, because I prefer something that's already broken in, and it saves you a little bit of money.

DEFF. the Antares Hampton Classic! I just got one myself and it's the nicest most comfortable saddle ever.I tried a bunch of their custom saddles as well but they basically felt the same and looked that same. It's not full calfskin like their custom saddles but for a price like that you cant beat it! Wink

if you're wanting to go high end, I'd go with a Hermes. I've heard a lot of good feedback about them. If you want mid-range, OLDER Pessoas, Bates, HdRs and Toulouses are pretty good.

the biggest problem with hermes saddles is that theyre the most commonly stolen saddles at horse shows and such becuase every theif knows EXACTLY how much theyre worth
thats what kept me from buying one

Hermes saddles don't age well. Terry Rudd was sponsored by them so that's all she owns, and when I rode with her I used them on her A/O jumper Atomic...damn thing was hard as a rock!

I have a similar saddle that I got used last year. It may not be expensive, but it is the most comfortable saddle I have ever used. My friends that have more expensive saddles like it better than their saddles.

What about Jaguar? My friend had one and loved it but had to sell it after it didn't fit her new horse. I rode in it a few times and it was very comfortable and seemed to have help up pretty well (she got it used from a friend).
